I'm a two-finger typist who looks at the keyboard, but I can be very fast and pretty accurate, so I don't find it causes me many problems. If only I could scroll down with my nose I'd fly through the 'Who Am I?' and get that Monthly Badge!

As much as I try to learn to touch-type, I cannot perfectly remember the keyboard well enough. I can almost touch-type though.

I am fast; generally I type around 60-70 wpm, although on a laptop keyboard, I am slower due to the flat keyboard.
My record speed was 103 wpm with 0 errors in a speed test.

I'm ok at typing. I type at around 50-60 words per minute. When I was in school I typed around 70-80 words per minute.

I was taught to touch-type at school. When we did speed tests we had to deduct one word per minute for each error and I sometimes ended up with minus wpm.

Two fingers, looking at the keyboard. I considered myself OK on speed until I tried Sherry's link and scored only 30 wpm with 1 mistake. Typing my own words I'm sure would be faster, as I kept losing my place trying to copy.
In my defense, I'm still on my first cup of coffee.

I can type fairly fast but my spelling can be bad. I do look at the keyboard but it's more of a focus thing than looking at the keys to find them.

I am a very slow one finger typer. I have to use my left hand instead of my usual right hand because of a stroke. I do alright anyway.

I think my WPM is around fifty-five. So...I guess that's moderately fast, right?

Fastest I've done is 70wpm with 0 errors, though probably average 55-60, I touch type, though still often have to look for some of the numbers..

I touch-type. I haven't been tested recently but my last test several years ago I was well over 60WPM. People at work think I type fast and get irritated because I can type and talk at the same time. If I have to type one handed I find it really difficult.
And I can't stand using keyboards if they are in alphabetical order (eg a GPS) because I can't find the letters on them. (LOL)

"Typing my own words I'm sure would be faster, as I kept losing my place trying to copy."
That's the whole point of touch typing - you can look at the words you are copying, and at the words that you are typing, you don't have to look at the keys. When I was at school, all students were encouraged to take typing, so that if we went on to higher education we wouldn't have to pay someone else to type out our work, and if we didn't, we could always get a job copying out the work of others.

I can type fast when I am looking at the keyboard. I'm learning how to type, though.
My sister is better at typing than me.

Never graduated beyond "two finger" mode, but was still timed at 100% accuracy at 50wpm when in the Navy...........mind you, that was 1960's, doubt I manage anything like that now.
