Gary, I imagine that sweet-smelling, waving wheat helps to waft you off to Slumber Land, no? (Or is this the season for the corn as high as an elephant's eye? I forget.)
Hi, Lesley!

It's tragic but what I've seen is however qualified people are they are better with the complicated stuff but fail on the simple which any child at primary school could cope with. Like when snooker players get the hardest shots as they concentrate it seems when there's just something as simple as a name, address or booking half the planet turns into a golem. There are so many simple ways to keep double checks as well to make sure if one person slips up another will catch it but they'd rather spend millions on PR and diversity officers than actually make sure someone's able to either find their appointment or be aware they're due. If you made the mistake and didn't turn up for a private medical booking you'd be charged at least part if not all the cost, they get no sanctions so carry on failing. Great.

Lesley, that's morning haze.
You'll see, when I take you out tonight with me.
(Oh, and I mixed up "Oklahoma!" (wheat) and "South Pacific" (corn). I'll have to turn in my badge. :(

David, it's very sad, but there's not a lot you can do. Complaining is like sticking a pin in a brick wall, or insisting that nobody can qualify as a general practitioner unless they have legible handwriting.
Lochalsh, it's OK, we're doing all right:

What's happening tonight - you will set behind a team of snow white horses? |

Yep, in the slickest rig...with isinglass curtains you can roll right down, in case there's a change in the weather ...
Ah, high corn=Oklahoma!; corny as Kansas in August=South Pacific...
(Now there's a geographic mishmash for you.)
This is all a measure of how tired I am these days. After all, I've been in the musical "Oklahoma!" eight times, count 'em, eight, and now it takes an Englishwoman to set me on the right course. :(

What parts did you play in Oklahoma?
Fret not. I've never performed in anything like that, but I've seen the film a few times and sung most of the songs. Usually when there was nobody around to hear...
Sleep? |

Just the chorus. I can act, but I can't sing all that well.
"Out of My Dreams" is my favorite number in Oklahoma!, but I'd never be invited to do that ballet sequence. I can't do stage dancing, although I've had some experience with the ballroom kind.
Act, yes. You can't be a decent teacher without an ability to engage an audience and bend them to your will. :) (I have to be pedantic here and say I'm never the star in the classroom, only a facilitator.)
Sleep? Perchance to dream? We'll see.
Night, Lesley!

Ha! Now that I've arrived, you guys (?) are sleeping? The very idea!
I must admit, I've never been in a play, sang in a chorus, or anything remotely artistic...except the Trumpet that I played like heck, in high school. Does that count? Oh, and I was an ice skating Flute in a Grammar School production of something. :)
The moon is full, and it's almost bedtime. 'Night all!

I think you need to be able to act in most jobs, even if it's only to convince people (customers, clients...) that you know what you're talking about.
Went to bed at 3am, probably dreamt - don't remember any of it, though.
Of course an ice skating Flute counts!
Yes thank you - I slept for nine hours... Sheer bliss. |

Jonathan got here yesterday afternoon, and we're doing something we should have started years ago - a blitz on the house. His girlfriend says she finds the house interesting because it's like taking a trip back into the 70s. Oh dear.
You know how men hang on to clapped-out machines and electronics for spares, or "just in case"? Today we went to the tip and got rid of computer towers and innards, an ancient CRT monitor, a fifteen-year-old telly, and VCRs which are older than he is. Got home and found that there is still floor under the dining table. Looks good - much more space for oxygen. |

Oh, Lesley. It's a treat to know we are not the only ones who must "blitz" a home periodically.
I'm glad you slept. It is bliss when you can do so.

Lesley you have given me hope, I too am going to throw away the old electronic things I have let store in my extra bedroom. I too have an old computer tower, and extra cords and more junk then should be listed. Its not that I am a hoarder its just I have other things to do that interest me more. So out the door it will go and once again you caused me to take action. Had I known you when I was younger I would have my Phd no doubt in my mind. One of your many skills is getting me to do things, just because you are inspiring.

Garry, do you have a recycling center for electronics where you are? I've had difficulty finding one, but I've finally learned to take them to Best Buy, where they remove the hard drive and give it back to you before they recycle your machine. (Disclaimer: I have no affiliation whatsoever with BB!)
Lesley, forgive the short detour, but putting things in their right places is important to me.(See astrology mention above.)
Hug!

Deunan, you are never alone! Except the blitz period in this case, long story, is ten or twelve years. Ouch.
Garry, you have left me speechless again.
Lochalsh, I have Virgo rising! :) It doesn't help. :( |
