Jazmee, that's a relief. People will no longer walk past this thread, hear the groans, and wonder what I'm doing in here.
It also means that Trojan and I can get on with the important business of enjoying our garden party as planned. Now, where did I put those cheap teabags and the Japanese shiraz? And I know I've got a job lot of used Boy Scout mugs but I can't for the life of me remember where I put them. In the greenhouse, perhaps.
My family dropped hints that there was German blood somewhere, but never said where or how much. I may lay claim to the same eighth! Hmmm it wasn't intentional but the last sentence sounded like an elocution exercise. |

Some people think I'm German, probably because of my blonde hair(now darker) and blue eyes. When told I say "We won the war!"

We invented hassenpfeffer. I love that word.
I'm mostly English. We have interesting words, as well.
*Wondering how one walks by a thread. Is that some sort of ritual dance around an iPad?*

Is the meal as good as the word for it?
I was visualising the thread as a corridor with an open door, where you could stop for a moment, read some posts and listen to the sound effects. It's as though it popped up off the screen and took on a life of its own. I don't suppose it has though...
Rabbit stew, anyone? |

Yes, but only by a hare...

I know. I was just pulling your leg, yanking your chain ... :)

Oh....to sink so low. So determined you are to have more than your eighth of the Sauerkraut, that you have placed poor Lesley in chains - and to add insult to injury....now you yank at them thus to increase her torment.
By the way, rubber gumboots or wellies are the obligatory footwear.

It's OK, tiepolo, I was yanking yours.
Got me wellies on, trojan. Any other rubber raiment required? |

Trojan, get a grip. I did *not* ask for an eighth of the sauerkraut, and, besides, Lesley offered the delicacy to me with no restrictions on the amount. She's a gracious hostess.
As for the chains: "They ain't the kind that you can see." (I think my British cousin and I are friends.)
And other song, this one from an American folk tune:
"Mice in the gas thank,
Shoo, mice shoo..."

I suppose with all this talk about German ancestory, "Ullo, Ullo" I had best confess that I am of French origins and we won the Silver Medal at Waterloo and Trafalgar, but got the Gold at Hastings.!
However, we don't mention that side of the family! Lol
The other side?, you may ask........well you may! Believed to be of Viking origins as my mother's maiden name is of Norwegian origins.
Now I know that nobody wanted to know all that, nor are at all interested.........so I will go and sit in the corner, with my cup of tea, that Lesley will provide (hopefully), and gibber quietly to myself!

French here, as well, in a wee portion. It's mostly English that courses (well, promenades) through my blood.
Dither, dither, my mind went whither?
Have a nice day, y'all, y'hear?

There were also hints about a spot of Frenchness, but that too was unsubstantiated.
Ray, gibber away - you will be in good company. |

If anyone asked, I guess I'd have to say German ancestry here, too (it's weird, 'cause I detest sauerkraut)

Try the homemade kind, Jaymee. It's significantly better than the market variety.
