I think you were very patient re the library card. The first thought that came to my mind was an additional choice - 'or I could shred it'.....*sweet smile*
Make that eight Lesley - and could you sign them please?
Bags movie right to the Trials of Merv!
Can see a Walter Matthau type.......

Sorry, meant to say how polite *you* were, suggesting shredding. I had a few ideas about where I could put it, and they weren't in the shredder!
Of course they will be signed. I could have a book signing somewhere posh, like the Burger King in Oxford Street.
Walter Matthau would have been too gentle and complex. It needs someone two-dimensional. Thinking caps on? |

Jack Nicholson would do a good job, but I picture Merv as shorter.

Shorter than Jack Nicholson? That's getting close to 'harmless little dumpling' territory.

Recalling Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men......the personality just seemed to match?

He's taller than Jack Nicholson, but who cares?
Did Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men wash his bedlinen, or did he think that buying new every couple of years was cheaper than replacing a broken washing machine? |

Christopher Lee in the original 1959 Dracula movie. Lesley floating gracefully from her crypt as the dreaded one calls. :)

Perfect! Take the hair off his head and stick it to his face, bung a glass of beer in his hand, and he'll be a dead ringer!
We'll sort out the rest of the cast tomorrow. Night all. :) |

Sorry to be tardy with this comment reply Lesley (Doctor's appts interrupted the important things in life :) ) But the chap whose mail I got was most appreciative and said so and as for phoning him, well I treat other people as I would like to be treated, trouble is that mail of mine that has gone astray in the past has stayed astray and I often wonder what happened to it. Being civil and thoughtful towards others does not cost more than the effort.

Sorry you had Doctors' appts! Hope they went well.
I do try to do the do-as-you-would-be-done-by thing, but it's not always easy, is it?
Often the best way of getting a really hostile response is to give someone something for nothing, but I tend to put that down to pride. It's easier than saying "Well give it back then." |

| Had lunch, all dressed up and ready to run a few errands, when a friend asked me in for a cuppa and I couldn't resist. We quaffed tea and solved the world's problems, her other half got in from work, she started chopping things up for dinner, and she invited me to stay and eat with them. Errands can wait till tomorrow. |

| Who's going to play me - Fay Wray? Margaret Rutherford? Fay Wray would probably make a better job of floating. |
