Rotten luck, Bev - hope it goes away soon, and Jazmee doesn't get it!
What was the online shop like? People say you get the old meat and the wilting veg - is that fair, or nonsense - or are you past caring? |

Thanks to you both for your good wishes. Just had another Lemsip Max and hope to feel human tomorrow.
I've shopped online quite often in the past from either Tesco or Sainsbury and can honestly say I've never had to return anything or complain except when they've sent a substitute item if the thing I've ordered hasn't been in stock. The fruit, veg and fresh meat have always been fresh and anything with a sell by date has had plenty of days to go before it's past it.

That's good to hear, thank you. My cousin in Preston said something about the meat, but I can't remember if that was from personal experience or other people's. Everyone grumbles about the substitutions!
Hope the Lemsip works. :( x--- sympathetic face |

If Merv goes online you may find yourself in a similar position to me, even when I've changed names I've always known the people I report aren't online, but although I think he might like it here I don't know what he'd say when he read his biography. Most of it was on the old blog though so can't dig that up (although I managed a little of it at least) but he wouldn't have a clue if you didn't tell him you were here.

You've already formulated my plan of action. I'm not telling him I'm here and wild horses wouldn't drag it out of me. And what a relief that most of it was left behind on the Real Blogs (RIP).
First thing he says he has to do is to find room for the workstation.
Next is to rope in the neighbour who works for a TV shop and has offered to help. The shop couldn't mend my telly - there was a part they needed, and they couldn't find one.
"We've looked for one everywhere. We've even looked On The Internet!"
Wooooo!
Let's hope his computer skills are better than the shop's TV skills.
He said the neighbour will need to assemble it, or show him how to. Jonathan thinks that means plugging it in. "Even you could do that." he said.
Then he'll need intense tuition and an email address.
When he's up and running, he will probably search for jokes and send them to everyone who's given him their email address. And then he can look at the stock market and the weather forecast. He can spend the rest of the time looking up crossword clues. |

Prof............why would you want "warm ice"? Rofl
Lesley..........the idea of Merv being let loose on line, conjures up a similarity.........." letting a child play with a live hand grenade"!
Shudders at thought (Merve, not child).

Shouldn't be too much of a problem. He's comparatively calm now. Famous last words? I hope not.
Paul, that was naughty! :) |

Crossword clues? Like the guy who regularly asks them on Ask FT? Could be interesting.

I wouldn't worry- I doubt many people read more than the latest page when they arrive. The actual chances of finding here just looking for crossword clues is pretty unlikely though, but it did remind me of that at first.

Thank you, I feel better now. You're right, people look at the OP and dive in, without even bothering to read the previous post, let alone the previous page.
*keep calm* *deeep breaths* |

So, are we thinking that Merv will soon be an FT member? He probably would enjoy the site, however it'll take a while for him to start being a pain...;)
You just never know, he may be quite an asset.

| Only if he finds FT without any help from me. He might well be an asset, I hadn't thought that far ahead. How long till he begins to irritate? Good question! |
