The quality of the quizzes is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed Helen's tour of Tunisia. I had no idea when I started, how much I'd learn about all these wondrous countries. Thank you to everyone involved in this globe trotting trip. I look forward to getting on the bus each day.

I hope this is the right place for my request. I would like to replace the current quiz on Israel, which should come up in about a month. You needn't worry about insulting the author of the current quiz - I wrote that one as well! I have written a new quiz which is especially designed for the bus tour - it is called "A Bus Tour of Israel". What do I need to do to make the switch?
Thanks and Shalom,
Janet

I'm not really sure why but I never took any notice of the bus tour,I'm on board now and kick myself for not joining sooner.I don't know if any one else does this but I charge myself $2 to "Ride" stick it in a jar and depending how far the tour goes who knows but at the very least I'll have a drink or two by christmas

Janet, I have posted your request and a link to the new quiz on the Bus Ride Replacement thread in the Author Chat Lounge. That is where we posted all the links for other replacement quizzes for Terry to collect. He does it every once in a while, not at predictable intervals. Here's hoping your new quiz gets listed in time. (But the old one was fine, even though this ione is better.)

I have now posted a reminder request about replacing the Israel quiz (along with a few others which have had new quizzes written) in the near future. An editor will contact Terry with a reminder, so her's hoping it gets done in time.

I realise that many different authors have submitted the quizzes which now form part of the 195 day bus ride.
I would not criticise any of the authors or quizzes as 'too tough' or 'too simple'.
I am just happy for the chance to try a quiz on a new country.
Many members, like myself, have had limited trips overseas. I have been from Australia to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and New Zealand. These quizzes give me the chance to look up facts on some of the many countries around our planet.

My major problem with the quizzes I would like to see replaced is not that they are too hard or too easy, but that a number of them lack any real information. Although a lot of these have already been replaced! It is a shame to spend the time taking a quiz and walk away with no sense of having learned anything more meaningful about the place than its internet extension. Nobody is going to enjoy every quiz, but if we have a variety of them, you'll probably find some that you do enjoy.
I have written a number of replacement quizzes, having not been involved in the initial project to get a quiz on every country. During the first circuit of the Bus Ride, it quickly became obvious that a number of countries were not being well represented on the tour, and I started by writing a replacement for a country whose (very old) quiz was both inaccurate and uninformative. I got hooked on how much there was to find out about countries I had barely heard of, and now have what almost amounts to a hobby of exploring them. Sometimes I write a whole quiz for a country that really seems to need a new one, other times I just research the day's country for interesting aspects of life there. (Hence the Cooked Lunch and Party Hats threads.) And when every country has a really good quiz, it will be time to start on photo quizzes for each of them! Or at the very least a full second set of good quizzes so that the itinerary can be varied from time to time.
There are about two dozen countries for which new and more interesting/informative quizzes are available, waiting for their turn to join the tour. So next circuit may not be another 'same old, same old' experience for those diehards who seem to have misplaced the exit door.

I thought the current Czech Republic quiz was one of the best ever. I learned something about everything.
