redwaldo, AU$1.28? Try AU$1.99 per litre. In US currency that's $1.84.

That's insane. How often do you have to refuel?

Anything between £1.15-£1.25 per Litre...........glad my car returns around 55-60mpg!
By the answers given, looks like on average USA pay around half what UK does............there, I suppose it is because their government dosn't cream off the amount of Tax ours does.

Schoonie, my car is a diesel, it averages around 55 mpg and we don't do a lot of mileage. I do know people though that drive a lot, maybe not as much as Americans do because we are a much smaller country. Even so in relative terms it costs them around $3000 per year in fuel.

UK petrol prices have reached their record this week at £1.20 a litre. Oddly the last record had oil at double the price it is now, meaning the rest is solely taken up by taxation. Lucky us.

Time we had another fuel blockade in the UK, the Government are ripping us off big time with the amount of tax on a litre of fuel.

Dizart.........The trouble with fuel blockade is that it hits those to whom the use of a vehicle is essential to their livelihood, whilst makes not the slightest difference to those responsible for the high taxation.......ie MP's. Those worthies are of course unconcerned with fuel costs as it merely goes on their "expense accounts". Which is doubtless why none of them are seen in anything other than a "luxury", petrol gulping, large car.

Schonie, unfortunately the kind of gas you get from burritos and tacos isn't going to get you far down the freeway!
I paid $0.98.6 per litre at the gas pump on Monday.

Right? :)
A little go power but not enough, at least in that sense. Would be great to see biodiesel make more of an impact in California. Could be done for so cheap and with very minimal emissions but too much influence from the Mafia (Waste Management) and oil companies. Really no different than corner drug dealers fighting for turf. Oh well. I still haven't figured which cartel is worse: diamond, drug, or oil.
