Checking today, I see that Montenegro is offline. As the author no longer has an account, and there are no other Montenegro quizzes online, it will need someone to volunteer a replacement. Anyone interested?

If possible, I can try and write a Montenegro quiz.

Well, after tossing around a few ideas for the quiz, I finally wrote up three of a potential fifteen questions. I may downsize to 10, though.

San Marino and Niger are also offline now.

They've been offline for a while. PDAZ has volunteered to write a quiz for Niger, and Snowman for San Marino.
Macedonia is a new arrival to the list of offline quizzes. Anyone interested in replacing it before the next circuit?

I strongly recommend 10 questions when you are writing a quiz on a country about which most people know very little. It's much easier to hold their interest and produce a quiz that leaves them feeling pleasantly enlightened rather than cross-examined!

I always say that 15 questions or more in a quiz should be used as sparingly as a semicolon.
What I've found is that no one likes a quiz that drags on unless you have a good reason to do it. 90% of the time, there's not really a good reason. :P

I hope the Chocolate Vault was a good reason. :-( Haha.
That's a nice feature... I got a correction note on today's quiz, and there's a big warning telling me to ignore minor issues until tomorrow; and to do everything in your power not to get the quiz taken offline. Haha. Nice.

James25, I have penciled you in on my personal list as volunteering for Montenegro - is this a firm intention, or just a thought of interest? (Not intended as pressure - even definite plans don't always work out, but your post looks a bit tentative, so I'm not sure whether you are actually planning to write one or not. I like to have a clear picture of what is being done, so I can decide what needs to be done next.)

I really need a day to work on this quiz! Only 3 of 10 questions done (I have take your advice), and tomorrow's reserved for the Best in Class badge.
Sunday, I promise!*
*promises made by me are only fulfilled sometimes, and there is no guarantee that I will remember to work on the quiz.

Just bumping this back to the first page, so people don't forget about this ongoing challenge! There are currently 5 offline countries, and these people have said that they will write a quiz for four of them:
Niger – PDAZ volunteered
Eritrea – aya3098 volunteered
San Marino – Snowman volunteered
Montenegro – James25 volunteered
Nobody has volunteered for Macedonia yet. If anyone has actually decided to do one, please post here in the next few days, or I will write one over the weekend. (But it won't be submitted until after my current submission and the next one go online, since that is a special quiz for my 100th.)
If anyone named above has changed their mind, please post here so I can let everyone know about countries most in need of loving attention. The link shows a number of other countries with red somewhere in their display, meaning that Terry has identified them as being good candidates for replacement.

I allegedly have a PhD field in Balkan history, so I can handle Macedonia. I'm a little trepedacious, though: last time I volunteered for one of these, someone else threw in a cookie cutter quiz before I could do the more labor-intensive thing I typically do. Caveat quizzor, I guess.

Stu, I will record you on my list of volunteers, and I will not write a Macedonia quiz since it is no longer in desperate need. I cannot, however, keep others from deciding to do one! If we do end up with multiple quizzes on one country, and they are all listed here, Terry will have to decide which to use. I believe he goes with the highest ranking, but might listen to suggestions grom editors. On the other hand, if there is only one here the next time he trolls for replacements, that is the one that will go across.
Anyway, please do one and post it here - we'll look forward to seeing it!

I am stil working on the Montenegro quiz. I did post it a little tentative at first, because I was not sure whether anyone was already working on it.

Yes, yes -- I'm still planning on doing Niger -- I just got sidetracked! Give me a week or so...

Good on', Deunan. Another Balkan country heard from (debatably).
I hope to have Macedonia done this weekend. Thanks to everyone in the 195-day bus tour for their feedback; lessons have been learned, now on to their application.
