I'm in the process of writing a quiz for Cuba with photos- not that we need another Cuba quiz, but I guess the ratings will tell us. :)

I am already envisioning the Photo Bus Tour! Not only would it discourage questions as uninspiring as the colors of the flag, it would encourage making that fact interesting - What is the significance of the color, symbol, or whatever? is a much more interesting fact about the country than simply naming the color, symbol, or whatever. Nothing, however, will ever interest me in knowing the internet domain code, and they would be hard to work around a picture! And several quizzes that make reference to geographic features, festivals, etc. would all be so much more attention-grabbing with images. Of course, given the rate at which we are slowly replacing old quizzes that really don't work that well with new ones (about 1 a week at the moment, although not evenly spread out), it will be a long time before they can all be replaced, if ever. After all, there is no point having an inferior photo quiz when there is a great standard one already available. It will be important not to let the quiz-writing standard slip due to over-reliance on the presence of the images.

Hear, hear!
As for my quiz on Mali, it would be truly beneficial to have the ability to make it a photo quiz, as I have entitled it "Monuments of Mali".

Regarding Maininmidohio's note, my response would be an emphatic NO! We're getting into very sensitive political territory here, which a little bit of benevolent 'haziness' (if that's necessary) will avoid.
I live in Belfast and I'm part of a large community tradition that doesn't regard itself as 'part of the UK' and DOES regard itself as part of one country named Ireland. I accept that there are also many people living in the North of Ireland (or 'Northern Ireland') who regard it as a separate country and as part of the 'UK'.
That's their prerogative - it's an emotive issue for those of us that live there - we've just fairly recently stopped killing each other over the issue - so let's please not enter into those murky waters. Far better to have a Bus Stop simply for 'Ireland' which uses a quiz - or quizzes, I've written several! :) - that include places both North and South of the border.

I do understand where you're coming from and the highly contentious issue this is from both sides. In view of that, IMHO, surely the most "diplomatic" approach would be to go purely on existing national boundaries as with every other country in the quiz. Then no-one (whatever their position) can accuse anyone else of doing anything other than what happens elsewhere.

Of course, it would also help if the United Kingdom had a quiz that conscientiously visited all parts. The current listing is for Britain, and the quiz does not include Northern Ireland. I don't know if we even have a quiz on the complete UK - there are lots of regional quizzes! So maybe it does make sense to have two quizzes on the two island entities, rather than on the politicl entities. ??

I'd support the commonsense approach Looney_Tunes suggests - lets have the existing 'Britain' quiz and an 'Ireland' quiz (which from my experience of the majority of those written - including Dizart's current one in the Bus Ride - covers locations both North and South). So base it on the geographic island entities rather than wade through the contested complexities of political entities. That, it seems to me, is the most 'diplomatic' approach.

It can apply to other countries as well. The Switzerland quiz did contain a question about Liechtenstein in the past week. Liechtenstein is a separate country. It does happen I think, because several quizzes were never specifically written for the Bus Ride.

I played it without the aid of a safety Wiki :-D - I love it, it's a great idea, and I didn't think it was too hard even without looking anything up (which I probably would have done had I still needed the score for the Bus Badge). The only thing I didn't love was question 9 (it is 9 isn't it? with the villages and provinces and areas? that Q anyway) lol which I hated because it made my head hurt just trying to puzzle out what it meant. Just my twopennorth :-)

Thanks for that feedback. You rightly picked Q9 as the one I didn't really get a good grip on - it's possible (and much easier if you look of Administrative Division on the Wikipedia page) but not great. As I was compiling the quiz, each map had an entry that told me exactly how I saw it being used except for that one, whose entry read "something on provinces?". I never did find the inspiration for a really interesting question based on the map, and went for something that Bus Ride passengers should be able to look up fairly easily. :D

If anyone is interested i writing replacement quizzes, here are the 'Top Ten' - the ten lowest-ranked of the current quizzes that have not yet had someone volunteer to write a replacement quiz. I have skipped the lowest one (Saudi Arabia), as I plan to start work on it in a few minutes.
Saudi Arabia
Côte d'Ivoire
Costa Rica
Bosnia
Vatican City
Sri Lanka
Georgia
Equatorial Guinea
Pakistan
Nauru
Uruguay
