Topic: Bus Ride Renewal Challenge

Subject: Bus Ride Renewal Challenge

While the replacement of low-ranked quizzes is a continuing goal, preparation of extra quizzes to introduce variety for the tourists is also important now that the Bus Ride is well-established. Some tourists are on their third tour, and even nice quizzes get repetitive. The lowest-ranked quiz at the moment (in the cycle), aside from a few that have already had a volunteer for a new quiz, is Dominica, around 31,000, which is roughly in the top third of all quizzes.

The following list shows the quizzes in the current rotation in need of an additional quiz:

Angola, Belize, Burundi, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Comoros, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgystan, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Marshall Islands, Moldova, Mozambique, Nauru, North Korea, Palau, Republic of Congo, Saint Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Swaziland, Syria, The Bahamas, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Zambia

If you create a new quiz on one of the preceding countries, get it placed online, and have it place within a reasonable ranking, it will be removed from the listing for this project and placed into the cycle for future rides.

As an added bonus, we have modified the ratings system to give all quizzes in our rotation a ratings bump.

Feel free to use this thread to also "claim" a country so that you don't duplicate someone else's effort and make sure to follow along with our later posts and updates to make sure that everything is in order. We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Has anyone claimed Mali? If not, I'd like to do it.

Mali has a replacement available, but could use a second for purposes of alternation.

I have been MIA for awhile but I am doing to do a fabulous St Lucia quiz if possible. I've been there once, so it won't take me long. Keep you posted when it is done!

Just played the Madagascar quiz for today's bus ride and it is all about history. Good quiz, but not at all about Geography. Hope a new Geography Madagascar quiz can go online soon!

On the principle that photos make countries come alive, I am adding this quiz as a pssible alternate for Mexico. There was already something viable, but I will check to see if this looks like a better option once it hashad a few plays. I enjoyed it, anway :)

I think that, with regard to Katie's comment above, it is important to note that Bus Ride quizzes can be in any category at all and not just in Geography. In fact, as much variety as possible should be encouraged in order to keep the experience of taking the ride as fresh as can be.

Here's an alternative quiz for Azerbaijan.

'Lost in Norway' has been submitted at last to the rather long World queue. That's the longest I've ever taken over a quiz, but I lost the vibe for a while.

And now available on a quiz site not far from you -

Where do you plan to get lost next, Rossian? There are still a lot of countries in need!

I'll look at my trusty map at the usual cock-eyed angle and see where it sends me! There are so many possibilities.

Just a few questions left and we can visit Bahrain once again! :-)

Bahrain is really small. Tough to find good, answerable questions. lol. It's coming, though, and should be submitted within the hour.

And it is submitted and waiting for editor approval!

Not listed, but just in case Terry decides to expand the tour to include South Sudan, I am writing a quiz on it. Also, the authors of several of the highest-rated Sudan quizzes have been contacted about adjusting their quizzes in light of recent developments - the demographics are quite different, the highest point has changed, etc. I'm posting so people will know that hasn't been overlooked! As is the case for every country, we would really like to have at least two quizzes from which to choose.

I'll lose myself in San Marino next. It'll be difficult, as it's so small - I should be able to walk out in a few days!

Haha, you might walk through it, trying to look for it. ;-)

I will be taking Ecuador, by the way.

This looks like a nice alternative for Bahrain.
