As I write this, I'm listening to Stuart McLean on CBC's 'Vinyl Cafe', and he's playing songs that were written/performed for children or songs that children have liked over the years - so far he's played 'The Ballad of Davy Crockett', 'Supercalifragelistic', 'Baby Beluga', various counting songs and so on.

What was your favourite song when you were a kid? I liked 'Green Grow the Rushes O' (drove my father nuts singing that one in my less than mellifluous voice all the way from Birmingham to Hereford when I was about eight),'Barbara Allen', and 'Mairzy Doats'.

How about you?

Jesus Loves Me and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star are the two most endearing children's songs to me.

The Teddy Bear's Picnic was one of my favorites when I was a widdo kid, but ya just can't beat Disney for incorporating some great tunes into their movies. I think I enjoyed "Under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid even more than my daughter did!

ElusiveDream When I was 6 I bought a cassette tape called 'Wee Sing Dinosaurs'. I'm now in my 20's & I still remember the words to every song. The original cassette tape broke a few years ago but I was able to replace it with the C.D & the songs are now on my I-Pod. My top 5 favourite songs from this C.D are "The King of the Dinosaurs", "The Brachio Limo", "The Dance Contest", "Deinonychus" & "Eggs".
