9/21 is the bithday of Sci-Fi author HG Wells, let's all go SCUBA diving at about 20,000 leagues under the sea today in his honor

at the convergence of McKeever Pl,, Montague St, Bedford Av. and was it Sullivan Pl?
I actually played there once in 1958 in a tryout for Kansas City...what a thrill.
My idol always was Gil Hodges and all of a sudden there I am playing first base and wearing(proudly) number 14 on my uni on the same piece of hallowed groud in Ebbets Field where Gil played so brilliantly -other than the birth of my kids and grandkids it is still the biggest thrill of my life.
9/24 is the birthday of Anthony Newley...let's all ask ourselves exactly what kind of fool we are in his honor
Also F Scott Fitzgerald

Exactly! Everyone I know who grew up in that area has a fond anecdote or two about the place. You played at Ebbets!
Gil Hodges stood out in a group of standouts.

I'm assuming that is not who you are, just a piece of Dem Bum lore-and that's one good for you,I never heard of him.
OK:what Brooklyn pitcher claimed to have lost a ground ball in the sun (and it happened in the World Series)?

I googled "Brooklyn Dodger born Sept. 24" and found Davis, so there's no great mystery involved in my comment.
I can't answer the question, sorry. :(
