Back from visiting my mum shes on remarkably good form considering, her knee was rebuilt the opposite to the obne she had replaced. No plaster cast either which seemingly will help her heal faster.

A friend of the family turned up as well so she had two of us there today, whilst i was there i heard the opening lines to Electricity from Billy Elliot the musical and realised was my mobile, was someone from surgery telling me there were abnomalities in the liver side of blood tests and my GP wanted me to book for more tests after christmas. My mum asked who it was so said doctors and that a blip in the liver blood tests and need retesting after christmas, her friend said thats unusual Doctors ringing you, so my mum explained what a brilliant Doctor i have, and explained how last year she rang me and had me hospitalised all with in a 3 hour spell.

So i am happy seeing my mum is coming along ok and am off to listen to my new cd Scala and Kolacny Bothers, includes a brilliant version of with or without you featured in promos for Downton Abbey

Expensive day today was packing case for my trip yesterday. Whilst zipping it shut the zip broke so have had to fork out for a new case, this one is slightly bigger then the last one, in theory get more in it but is already full but not zip busting full.

lesley153 Oh dear - poor wallet!

The wallet did not groan too much as the bulk of the cost came from shopping vouchers i saved for all year, all that left my wallet was a Elizabeth Fry.

Would cost more if i had done what i had intended too intially and go to matalan same size case was £25 dearer.

Been to see my mum she is doing ok seems a lot more happier, my niece showed up and was in good mood although she was saying she needed money to get her mums xmas present, so i gave her £10 and my mum did, mum said she would give me the £10 back after xmas, my mum then sent my niece to the bank machine to get money for her so i ended upo with my £10 back wish she had not done that, as i was going to have a chinese meal and the £10 was for that giving it to my niece would have meant i'd not waste the money on a chinese, getting it back i did.

lesley153 I know all about tiredness and convenience! Lucky you got the tenner back.

That's a long journey you've got to look forward to on Friday. I hope it's smooth. How long are you away for?

Had a pleasant time away weather was okay a bit stormy but no smnow, well until i got my taxi to station for the train home yesterday.

The journey was nightmarerish to say the least, too many people getting on the train without valid tickets standing or sitting on the floors both in the vestibule areas and the carriages. We were stopped in stirling for 30 minutes as we were overcrowded and they would not allow the train to proceed until at least 100 people got off, whcih even tually happened, one woman who was moaning she had no seat etc seemingly was not even meant to be on the train her train was two hours after the one i was on.

The fares rose yesterday and the governemnt strated it was to improve the service well all i can say is it will never happen.

lesley153 They also said it was to take the load off the taxpayer. I imagine a lot of taxpayers need trains to get to work, so the load is taken off them, and put right back on again. Odd, because I'd always thought we had one of the least subsidised rail services anywhere. Love the way they said "no fare increases" but forgot to mention the increases that had been negotiated in advance.

Very pleased you enjoyed yourself!

Thank you Lesley, back to the norm now cleaning washing, ironing and cooking as well as shopping .

Saw my mum briefly yesterday and she looked a lot better then she did is still a long drawn out thing for her to cope with though.

lesley153 Good that she's on the mend. Will your niece be helping to look after her? or keeping a quiet watchful eye on her, to see when she's back to normal?

I'm pleased you had a nice break Professer. Hope the new year brings you no problems. :)

Nightmarish rain trips? Never - they don't happen.
They don't happen here, either. It's a perfect network and commuters should be more appreciative........

I've seen the flying pigs from inside the carriages, too!
