Yes, you'll be right soon Professor.
Keep up the pressure on the Torys; otherwise health and education for the common people will disappear. :)

Don't forget travel! The few remaining people who actually have jobs are having to spend more and more to get to them. Soon a train journey will be a romantic treat - save up and wear your best clothes! Look on the bright side - it'll put off the scum who think the seats are there for their feet.
Hope you feel better soon, Gary. *sniff*

Is that the best he could do? Take two aspirins and see your GP in the morning? Makes you wonder why the out of hours services exist. I'm sure we got a better deal when our own GPs visited.

That sounds miserable. I wish you relief, soon.
Meanwhile, if you feel starvation setting in, you can always give Iceland a ring. They'll deliver, for free if you spend at least £25, which is more than Sainsco and Tesbury are prepared to do. I may have mentioned my cousin in Preston, who goes to the shop, chooses, pays, then goes home and waits for his shopping to turn up.

You're welcome. At least if you go in and pick your own purchases, you won't be at the mercy of someone else's ideas of what constitutes an acceptable substitution. I don't know what they're like for remote orders, though.
Good luck tomorrow. Keep us posted!

Had a early morning alarm call this morning from my Doctor, as i am still struggling to walk she rang me and did a phne consultation for the appointment i had, Seemingly there is something not quite right with my liver and she wants me to have further blood tests and a ultra scan.
As i do not drink have not for as long as i care to remember now, i am slightly concerned as to what it can be, appt for scan takes 4 weeks to come around so at least i should be walking better by then, she did mention liver complaints she wants blood tests for but have forgotten them as am shocked to have this problem. |

| Why can't all doctors be as good as the one i prefer to see, she rung yesterday to discuss the problems thrown up by a blood test, today she rang to say that the appointment had been booked for a ultra scanin 3 weeks, will get a letter she said. Hopefully i will be able to walk better by then. |

Snow overnight not a lot though and is disappearing, supposed to be more over the weekend.
Today is my first day in over 12 days i can walk without pains in my knee and foot, so thankfully improving seems a eternity to me that i have struggled but was only just over two weeks. Hoping things stay as they are now as the problem made me realise how much we rely on our legs and feet. |

That's a relief. Of course it feels like an eternity when you have no idea how long it will last. Hope it's under control now.

Saturday brought a letter from the hospital givining me a appointment for the liver scan on 18th at 3pm which is a saturday.
Wondering what can be up now as i dont drink and i cannot understand why my liver is causing problems, i seem to recall prior to my last hospital stay i was sent for a scan as Liver was enlarged nothing was ever said about that. The snow is preventing me getting about so am putting off blood test doctor wants me to have till snow gone but need it before i go for the scan. |

On Tuesday, I watched the snow recede from the back lawn. Today, it's a heatwave - the temperature has hit double figures. It's so nice when it stops - and thank goodness we're not somewhere like Romania, where the snow is higher than we are.
Good luck Saturday. Scans are good. A problem found is a problem treated.

Not so sure about that Lesley, now ui have had chance to get my head around it i can say one thing i was told, the last time i was hospitalised the time you tracked me down :), i was due to have a scan the tuesday after i had been admitted, which i had as a in patient rather thn out, was never given any results nor to the best of my knowledge was my Doctor. However woman doing the nurse tol;d me the result, prior to doing the current scan, seems that showed up i had gall stones, which if my doctor had been aware i could been treated for. Some one somewhere has made a error, when my doctor calls me in to see her i will be asking questions, and if it is the hospital i will be wanting action as been suffering for 2 years nearly now. |

Ouch!
My experience (three experiences that I can think of offhand) has been that medical people are very sloppy at diagnoses and communication, but will move heaven and earth once they know what's wrong.
Just a shame that you had two years of it that could have been avoided. Getting answers is difficult or impossible, so good luck with that. Surely knowing what's wrong is a step in the right direction?
