Back from seeing the Physioterrorist, as i thought before i left not a lot they can really do. Gave me a exercise to do 3 times a day but felt looking at it not much can be done.

Seemingly no mobility control in the left foot as such, have to go back see the resident physio when she is back from her school summer holidays. Also explained re doctor who said was a sprain when infact it was achilles trouble he said thats terrible doctors like that should not be treating folk. Also said he agreed with me that the specialist i saw was being rather blinkered wether they can now find the causenow is another matter he felt the damage was permenant all they can do is try ease the pain.

Professer, if they can do something about the pain, wouldn't that help you? I am sorry they cannot come up with any other solutions.

I hope today is a good day for you and you are able to rest, relax and be as pain free as possible.

lesley153 Gary, I hope you'll give the physio a chance. I've had physiotherapy at different times for different reasons, usually post-op, and so has Jonathan for his spine. You think they're silly and won't make any difference; but you try them anyway and it's surprising what a difference they make.

Occasionally you have the opportunity to compare how you are, having done the exercises, with someone who started from the same position but didn't do them, and the difference is quite staggering.

Lesley i always give everything a chance, but when they want me to stand one footed on my bad leg without leaning or holding oin to anything is going to be hard lucky enough at the surgery was the physio bed nearby it was that i fell on.

He did say i'll make you another appt which i have accepted and as schools back will be the resident one so back to square one for the first appt but after that hopefully will change.

Lochalsh Would a therapist really make you stand unaided on a weak leg? You do have malpractice insurance in the UK, don't you?

Lochalsh i think they are trying to strengthen my bad leg there is no muscle control or strength in it.

Lochalsh Then don't be so worried about the difficulty? Short-term pain, long-term gain? They'll be there to catch you if you fall. And good luck, I know from hard experience that physiotherapy is no fun.

Lochalsh no one at home to catch me if i fall and thats where i have to do the so called exercises i nearly fell twice when i attempnted it in front of physio had to grab wall to stop me falling. I did manage all of 20 secs after the 5th or was it 10th try cannot remember my head is mince.

Lochalsh I used to do my routine near a bed. That helped me to feel secure. The therapist wouldn't give you the exercise if he/she didn't think you could do it. You're just not going to get better if you don't rehab the foot. Once again, good luck to you!

lesley153 I take it all back. It would be wonderful if you could use your weak leg but it sounds like he's missed out the intermediate stages, of building up your strength before you try it. Better luck with the resident!

lesley153 The physio obviously doesn't think it's too late. Lochalsh, doing it near a bed is a brilliant idea.

Yummy.....food!

Don't have a shilling, Professer. Sorry.

I'm doing ok. Still trying to cheat the sleep monster though. I should nap today but my "need to do" list is too long. I want to finish my chores so I can get to sewing.

I am sorry you are hurting so much. I know physio can hurt initially but help eventually.

Keep us posted.
