The history/geography issue doesn't bother me, but I thought the quiz was very hard partially due to the wording of the questions. You had to wade through a lot of extra vocabulary to get to the exact questions. I also felt the choices of answers were confusing rather than enlightening. Bottom line - the info the author wanted to present was good, but the delivery method could use a little work - as in get to the point.

I loved that Kenya quiz. My brother-in-law was stationed in Kenya with the British Army during the last few years of it being a colony and so while answering the questions I could cast my mind's eye over the exotic presents I used to get as a child and the joy they used to bring me. Of course, I could have gone upstairs to dig them out, but it was easier to do the quiz which I thought was well crafted, beautifully researched, and actually not overly slanted.
However, Stu, I would be grateful if you would refrain from encouraging PDAZ to write another bloodthirsty quiz. She has a habit of torturing rabbits in her quizzes and I can't imagine what she'd do with a spear!

Dippo, my first post was direcly in response to your OP and I thought it responded to your question, after that, as happens in most threads, people respond to a more recent post then the OP's one, or a mixture of the OPs and other posts. So as the thread goes on respnoses aren't always meant in direct reference to the OP's post.

Nope, though my puggle is just about as cute. That picture is a thank you to whomever gave me the quite undeserved gift gold membership today. It was certainly unexpected (and a bit embarrassing, since sloth and not any lack of funds was my only excuse for not re-upping). Thoughtful folks like this really make this site worth coming back to.

None of these quizzes are permanent, they will all be rotated at intervals. It is intended to have some quizzes each circuit that will enlighten you about history, food, tourist activities, holidays, etc., and not just all straight geography quizzes. The information required for this quiz is easily found within a few clicks using links on the Wikipedia page provided, or you can google the questions directly and find even more links to get extra information.

Eh, I don't know, Looney. The stuff on the British colonists' sexual mores is a little more nuanced than that. It's not what I'd call obscure, but it's not as plain as the nose on one's face.
If I'm a tad cryptic for the gentle reader, try googling "Are you married or do you live in Kenya?"

Today's quiz was a bit of a change from the others we've seen. I thought the theme was Geography, but today it was all about the history of the country.
After taking the quiz, I'm still no wiser about the country, the climate, the culture, or exactly where in Asia I would find Kenya!
Kenya is NOT anywhere near Asia :)
