Jabberwok? I don't completely understand "welcome to civilisation" -- was it friendly? I've been "civilized" my entire life, I swear! All Western Mountain girls are tres civilized. I live in Colorado right now, but I'm from NW and SW Montana. It doesn't get more Western than that.
=========================
I don't mean to put words in Mrs. mouth but I believe she was referring to our discussion about various materials that boots are usually made of, Elle. She's always friendly.
(wow, I just realized that I was calling her Mrs. As a kid I was told to always address a teacher Mr/Mrs/Miss and their surname.) |

RJ, back to your list of 10 things not to say to an English person - No.7- refering to food, I think pies are dusgusting unless they are home made. At Duck Towers we had Chilli Beef today, Paella yesterday and Chinese take-away on Saturday. My favourite 'English' food is Welsh lamb chops, buttery mashed potatoes and peas.
No.2 - do I know the Queen? I have visited her house and signed the visitors book and she has waved to me when she came to my old home town of Morecambe to unveil the Eric Morecambe statue.
No.5 - Posh and Becks -you can keep them, at least they aren't in Texas.
Now I'm off to try the Pilchard quiz.

RJ, your Ricky Gervais list is hilarious!
Craig Ferguson, Scottish but now newly-American, has a few lists that make me laugh out loud, too. He also believes that since HE had to take the American Citizenship Test, all of us need to know those answers, too, so he hands one out to us every night. When he gets really wound up, especially with another Scotsman as a guest, I can't understand a word he says!
Sian, I have... counting... oh, don't make me count, but I have little ankle boots, too, and Ropers are taller. But I'm thinking your trainers are like my running shoes, my Nikes? That makes sense; I was still thinking boots, I guess.
I'm absolutely civilized, but I'm also a carnivore. But I really do rescue kitties! And I sure would never eat them or turn them into boots! If God meant me to only eat alfalfa, he would have made me one of RJ's quarterhorses! Or maybe a Thoroughbred.
Walking into a store filled with nothing but Crocs would assure me I was, indeed, in Hell. And those colors! They look like giant Jelly Bellies!
RJ, is that you doing that ropin' and ridin' in that photo?

I used to catch my goats with crisps. I just used to stand at the end of the paddock and shake the bag, then they would come running.
Sian, I have never come across roping (or lasooing) in England either. What breed of goats do you have? Mine were Pigmy goats called Mary and Harry (now moved on to another home due to my change in location).

One last comment before I go. Did anyone catch the heat Cincinnati rookie pitcher Aroldis Chapman was throwing Friday night?
The Dude threw a 105 mph pitch and backed it up with a 104 mph pitch. The 105 pitch was the fastest pitch ever recorded in a major league game. He's in the history books. Not bad dude. |

Thanks for clarifying-that's what I thought you were asking.
First, my regular email is Jazmee.
Second, in grade school I would sign my assignments "Jazmee"-accidentally writing a "z" when I meant to put a "y" (In Braille, there's a one-dot difference between those two letters)

Frankly, my dear, I think goat-roping should be abolished as a rodeo "sport." Staking a defenseless goat at the end of the arena, and then screaming down there to leap off your horse and tie the poor thing up is just pathetic! After about three "attacks," the goat just lies down and gives up.
Now, make it a really angry, hungry Rottweiler on a short break-away leash, and THAT would be sporting!
In my quest to abolish goat-roping, along with barrel-racing, I'll add "Badges for Blogging" and "Badges for Blog-Hijacking" to the list.
