The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

"cute fuzzy squirrels" - they'd probably 'like' them Elle....:D

New page - SO how is everyone and what are you all up to for the Sweet September?

Jakeroo

MarchHare: Me? Cheeky? (looks behind herself to check). Nope, definitely not in the JLo category lol.

Aside from the normal routine, what's new for September is pickling and making jam/pies (very ho-hum I know). What makes it "interesting" is the fact that I'm sans kitchen (no sink, no countertops, no dishwasher, no lights) at the moment due to a major renovation. I'm at the point where the only thing I really want to pickle is myself lol.

September plans? Don't know-I take it day by day (any plans kind of tend to get upset by a hurricane)

Jam/pies Jakeroo and a major renovation?

Is that just for your kitchen?
What are you jamming and pie-ing?

Everything just coming into bud here presently - but I'm going to have Heaps of blueberries...*excited* and the apples are all happy.

New herb garden....finally...and just need to clear away the bouganvillea monster for My Very Excellent Vegie Garden and I'll be an almost happy girl!

Halloween Daymare....*sigh* What do you do the celebrate?

Slowly collecting momentum here - can't understand why it's not celebrated more but the attitide has been 'it's an Amercan thing'......some People just don't Get It!

Had friend who grew carved pumpkins last year and then we had a Pumpkin Feast with soups and scones and pie... Yummie.
And the Jack 'o' Lanterns looked wonderful.

MarchHare - I do nothing. As Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas have all arrived at my local craft stores, I may as well go with the flow.

Actually, there were a few interesting items at the local Hobby Lobby today. Chimes made of fall leaves (glass). Different types of pumpkins (not real) and the hot pink, lime green, black, light blue Christmas trees turned me off of the entire season. One tree was beautiful. It looked like the trees you expect to see in Norman Rockwell paintings. Green pine trees with pine cones, cranberries, popcorn and small figures which looked to have been carved.

Halloween lost any appeal when children could no longer go door to door due to safety concerns. Why some have to ruin it for everyone is just beyond comprehension.

Could do with good hobby store that actually was not a 2-bits of everything shop.

What craft supplies do you seek, MarchHare? I know all sorts of places and some of them actually ship.

Like to make interesting items and have some friends with new babies that would love to cuddle a long snuggy toy - like a snake..... *grin*

Of course we can talk about snakes again!

Stew, Daymare speaks the truth. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas start really early here, and every self-respecting woman has her Christmas shopping finished in August. Apparently, I am not self-respecting.

But Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite places on earth! For one thing, it's huge! And for another, you can spend hours and hours in there and never get bored, and never see all of it -- sort of like Disneyland!

And for another! If you see something crafty and want to make it yourself, no problem! But, if you like the finished product so much you just can't wait, you can buy it already assembled! There is just something for everyone, but for me, more than anything, there is a never-ending supply of silk sweetpeas, since I can't bring the real ones I grow into the house -- they're poisonous to kitties. They're poisonous to us, too, but I'm not going to eat them. Tory and Tulo? Like Mikey, they'll eat anything.

Daymare, I don't know if you saw my response to you thanking me for helping you figure out the Favorites File trick for all your tournaments, but you are more than welcome.

Also, have you figured out yet that if you and I wanted to meet at Starbucks, we could both probably meet at any of them in about 10 minutes? Small world, and all that.

I promised a snake story in Jazzee's blog, but I could surely come up with one in here, too. Snake stories -- I've got a million of 'em.

But it's almost 3 a.m., and I think I must sleep, perchance to dream.

Anyone who wants to chat about snakes is more than welcome to do it in my blog, as RJ seems to have a serious problem with them ;-)
