The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

OK, Sian. I'm off to knock back a few brews and have some supper. I have thoroughly enjoyed our little chat. Can't wait to learn some more from you.

G'Day blogging buds.

Seems my non to subtle blogging badge hints have fallen on deaf ears. No worries, I'm quite content with my own blogging badge creation.

Hmm Looks like Anton got locked up. Must have become bored casting his pearls before swine ;-)

I probably should quit yakking so much and try to help my team win some trivia points. Nah, I think I'll do both...more interesting that way.

Hold up there, kids. I am absolutely female, and I love sports. I don't just tolerate hockey, I have season tickets. Baseball is America's pastime! What's not to love? Football is a blast, especially college football, and Rugby is insane. More on Rugby players later. I thought hockey players were certifiable until I met rugby players. They don't call rugby "Elegant Violence" for nothing.

Depending on the sport, it's that entire "wolfpack" mentality that I love. And when it's live, and you can actually see it all play out in front of you, panoramically, as they set up their next play? Indescribably delicious.

Yep Elle, to each their own. Differences in how happy your are, differences that determine which pronoun you are called by, differences in personality...well you get the idea. These differences are what makes people and therefore life interesting, in my opinion. Personally, and this is neither here nor there. I like most sports but what I like least about sports is the wolfpack or herd mentality you mentioned.

Are all the different people
And all their different minds
And different ways
It would take a lifetime to explain

Then you put the two together
And get a spectacular surprise
'Cause one can teach the other one
What she doesn't know
While still the other fills a place inside
He never knew had room to grow

"Different People"~No Doubt

Oh geeze! Royalty and Monarchs the subject of the Heroes game.
Oh well, I'll go take my beating like a man ;-)

When Prince Charles acts up does the Queen have a bad heir day?

Good thing the quiz on Royalty and Monarchs was multiple guess because the gods smiled on me today.
Hmmm 15 questions...I seem to remember the probability of passing a multiple choice test(with primary dependence on your guessing finger) depends primarily of the number of questions, because, as the number of questions increases, the possible solutions increases exponentially, and therefore your chances drop accordingly. I did know a few but getting four guesses correct was pure luck.
All this calculating has given me a headache...I need some medicinal alcohol to alleviate the pain.

Isn't this the third time we've had Royals and Monarchs as the Heroes Topic? I went in with great tredpidation, but finished with 12 correct answers. It took me forever, though. That's a hard topic!

Yes, for me it is a hard topic. I'm thoroughly confused and am destined to remain that way. I hope to memorize just enough names and dates so I don't embarrass myself.

I agree, there's a lot of intrigue and Machiavellian like machinations. However, I understand that snotty nosed guy on the pitch much better than I'll ever sort out Royal history.
15/15? Not in a million years....I have much better odds of becoming the Prince of Wales.

I was taught European history at school , enjoyed it and I suppose that's why Im good at it. The other side of the coin is sports, especially U.S sports. you grew up with it and can probably name every team, every team mascot, where they played etc etc. there must be hundreds of teams in the U.S. if you count every type of game. Too much information.

About today's royalty, they make a good tourist attraction.

I like sports but I'm not a student of sports. I've played soccer...badly, football...OK, baseball..pretty good basketball..OK gymnastics...pretty good and Taekwondo...3rd Dan Black Belt. I'm mostly involved horse stuff at the present....training, showing, feeding, shoveling....etc.

My sister and her husband breed and show Cobs. I help out sometimes. I also have a full time job and help mam and dad on the farm, so I havent much time for sports. Although I sometimes take my little nephews to football and rugby training when my sister cannot. Its good for them. builds character and will keep them off the streets and drugs when they are older. Sports is a good means of channelling their natural agression into the game.

Sian, with that schedule, I don't think mam and dad or too worried about you being out on the street and around drugs either. I've been pretty darn busy myself running my little ranch. I hope to have an easier winter unless fate or hurricane season decides otherwise.

I've been out mucking about today.....literally. Managed to get my tractor stuck..twice. Broke a water line. I didn't see the blessed thing it was under two feet of mud. While I'm trying to pull the tractor out of the mud hole, my neighbor's son walked by and said, "Stuck huh?" Clever kid that one.
I've done enough damage today. I think I'm going to shower and crank up the hot tub. Everything that moves is real sore.

I remember 'mucking out' it's about the only thing I don't miss about my horses, don't forget to take the beer with you into the hot tub :)

RJ, RJ, RJ... there is a huge difference between a pack and a herd! But more on this later. I didn't have to muck out anything today (and did you tell that kid, "Here's your sign!"?) but I'm too tired to go into it now. But surely this is the place, no?

As long as I'm hijacking your blog, dibs on "Packs vs. Herds"!

You got it Elle;-) We anxiously await your ellequent and convincing dissertation, contrasting packs and herds.

I'm the one that should have been wearing the sign, as this was the second time I got stuck in nearly the same sink hole. Oh well, that was yesterday. Today I'm staying away from motorized vehicles. Peach pickin today ;-)

I generally wait until I get out of the hot tub to imbibe but I might make an exception tonight. I'm going to give Guinness Stout another try. I'm of Irish decent for crying out loud and can't seem to acquire a taste for fish bladders and burnt barley! Cheers Jane!
