Hello RJ.
I see you have abandoned ship and started your own team. You would have been very welcome with the Pilchards (along with some other ex pirates).

| Thank you, Wendy. But for now I'm going to try for a smallish team. Maybe you could lend me a few players or yourself ;-) |

((Hi Elle,
I thought the wolf pack behavior was a comment on the behavior of the AUDIENCE at a sporting event. The wolf pack being the crowd. For instance, crowd behavior becomes overly aggressive through the process of "de-individuation". Fans begin throwing things at the players or becoming overly agitated with the referees etc.
Maybe I'm just thoroughly confused, as is often the case. I hope I haven't put you through a lengthy explanation due to my sloppy reading habits.))
No, no, no! I was talking about the players, not the crowd! You're talking about "crowd behavior," which is something else entirely. I hate "crowd behavior," generally speaking.
And I was just getting warmed up and ready to talk about Lions and Hyenas, too. Oh, what the heck, I still will, after this Giants/Braves game. And speaking of "crowd behavior," just trying to sit through thousands of Braves fans doing "the chop" is about to drive me batty (pun intended.) No offense, Braves fans, but honestly! I would think that would drive the players nuts, too.

I googled 'goat-roping' today. watched a couple of clips.
Pathetic.
I have two questions.
A. does anyone seriously pay to watch that?
B. dont you have the something similar to our Royal for the
Prevention of Cruely to Animals in the U.S.A?

Not much going on in my corner-unless you count recording a letter to my pen pal and writing a Brain Teasers quiz.

Sian! I told you goat-roping wasn't sporting! See why some hungry Rottweilers would make it interesting? And did you notice that poor little goat is also staked out?
I am going to say no, people don't pay to watch that. That's pretty much the cue to go buy something to eat and drink.

not much going on here either Jazmee. I have finished papering my bedroom. creamm wallpaper. I painted the woodwork white and the beams black. sorted out my books. (I had loads under the bed). made up a pile to go the charity shop. Ive two very large bookcases in my room.
Finished picking the apples last week, stragglers that had been missed and couldnt be seen until the leaves started to fall. stored separated by cardboard strips in boxes over the barn.

Just starting to get BBQ weather here. Our winters are very mild and the most enjoyable time of year. I've just picked the last of the peaches in an orchard I planted three years ago. The apple orchard pre-dated my owning of the property and the trees are very old. They are full of beautiful Gala apples but not ready to pick quite yet. |

The many goats used in goat-roping aren't hurt or harmed, Sian, other than their pride. And as I said, after about the third time some cowgirl goes racing down there to leap off her horse and tie the little guy up, he just lays down to avoid the drama, I suppose. So, they trade him out for a new goat.
RJ is right. No one pays to watch it, and I have no clue why it's still considered a "sport." But no goats are harmed in the process!
Now mutton-busting! There's a sport!

Sian, as a long-time wallpaperer (is that a word?) and realizing the proper hanging of wallpaper is an art, and possibly a dying one (finding the pattern repeat can be a nightmare. What I thought was the easiest wallpaper I had ever found turned out to be the toughest. The pattern repeat was every 11th down, and every 4th in,) I just have to ask: Why did you choose a cream wallpaper? Is there no pattern, at all? Or is it a textured paper?

Textured. two-tone cream. repeat pattern 4inch down approx. 6ins in. so hardly any waste at all. I find pasting the wall and the paper works great on even difficult paper. As long as the first strip is plumbed straight (I use a heavy key tied to wool) the rest comes easy. Its an old house so the corners arent that straight, simple if you make sure the overlap is plumbed straight on the next wall. If you TEAR into the corner with any excess, it will blend in. dont cut with scirrors. it will show.
Mam taught me how, and I've been helping her for a few years. This is my first solo effort and I enjoyed it.

I didnt want much colour on the walls as my carpet and curtains are patterned. I painted the ceiling and woodwork white, but wanted the beams black. the window isnt that big and I didnt want the bedroom to look gloomy. Cream is a nice warm colour and keeps everything light as well.
