You aren't really talking about a potato peeler named in a hypothetical essay are you, Elle? You're talking about your second amendment rights....right?

Hi Elle,
I've never heard of Canucks - I presume it relates to Canadians. As for Yanks or Yankees, my knowledge of the words relates to the New York Yankees (is that basketball or baseball?) and to the American Civil War.
Please educate me her because my knowledge of American vocabulary is quite limited.

Hi Jane,
I have no idea, why anyone would get torqued off for being called a "Yank" or a "Canuck". I've been called much worse and didn't bat an eye?

I don't do "Fill Me In" myself, but more because I can't speed-type!

If anybody would like a Lancashire Peeler, just send me your mailing address and I'll send one to you. We sell them in the shop where I work and I could probably get a very good deal for a bulk purchase ;)

Since when is that a Lancashire peeler. Looks like a regular old peeler to me, Jane. I have three of them in my kitchen.

I've heard their are ways around the speed typing requirement, Jazzme.

It works just the same over here - southerners are from the south east (around London), if you call a south westerner a southerner you should expect some verbal abuse!

Tickets for the 2012 Olympics go on sale next month, starting at only £20, RJ, are you still planning a visit?

How can you use three peelers? Do you have three hand?

You brought up the potato peeler as a weapon, RJ! I'm taking it literally, AND upholding my 2nd Amendment rights! I just never thought of a potato peeler as a weapon before, but I'm liking it now quite a bit! It looks so innocuous! I just don't want to be carrying one concealed and then find out I'm breaking the law. Going to jail for a concealed peeler would be pretty embarassing.

Now heels? All girls know they're lethal! And we don't have to conceal them!

I'll be there. I want to scope out the UK. I don't know what I'll do for beer. Do they have American beer there?

Never bring a potato peeler to a gun fight, Elle. I have a 40 caliber Glock, myself.

Gifts - yes, take your pick. The choice is a potato peeler, a pack of Blu-Tack or a bottle of sink and drain unblocker. Or if I feel really generous you could have one of those things which removes fluff and dog hairs from your clothes.

The supermarkets sell beer from America. It's probably not as good as home grown but I'm sure you'll find something to suit your taste. I think you will find London very different to Texas, I suggest you make time to visit the Tower of London if nothing else. Then jump on a train to Bristol (about 1 1/2 hours travelling) and the 'ducks' will be happy to show you some of the beautiful parts of England. We could even take you to Wales, which isn't very far, then you could improve your Welsh language.

Hi Jane! Those are some mighty fine peelers you have there! I have two of them that look just like that! But I rarely peel anything; I use a vegetable scrubber, since most of the nutrients are in the peels.

Apparently, no one does get torqued off being called a Canuck! I was misled as a wee, small bairn, which was my point. Montanans are nothing if not polite.

Maybe you would have to endure being called a Yank to fully realize how... well, I don't want to say offensive, but it truly is right on the border. It's degrading. It's absolutely demeaning. It would be like me calling anyone south of Albuquerque a "redneck," which, incidentally, I would never do! It honestly borders and teeters right on being an ethnic slur, and I don't know anyone who is routinely referred to as a "Yank" who likes it. But if they're out there, I would love to hear from them! (Late Disclaimer: These are my opinions and in no way reflect on the Blogger, the Blogees, or anyone else but me! And possibly Ann Coulter, but I truly hesitate to speak for her, even though I do think I could take her with one arm tied behind my back.)

For example! RJ is a Texan! Is he a Southerner? No, he is not! I live in the North, so I'm a Yank? I am not! I'm a misplaced Montanan! I will happily be a North Westerner, or more accurately, a Westerner, but not a Yank or a Yankee.

And yes, The New York Yankees are a Major League baseball team, who are getting their hind ends kicked right now by the Texas Rangers!

That being said, are vegetable scrubbers going to be added to the list of new weapons, and will I need a permit for those, too?

And as a complete about-face aside, in my quest to climb up that ladder to a higher level, I now realize I will never get another Expert Win in my lifetime. What was I thinking???

Of course I would never bring a potato peeler to a gunfight! I DO remember the Alamo!

Glocks are interesting, but that plastic thing isn't happening for me. I'm more of a Ruger 9mm semi-automatic girl myself. Or for a real kick, I like my .357 Colt Cobra. "Kick" being literal.

Lord, do I need to add another disclaimer? Maybe we should stick to potato peelers. I know our gun laws kind of freak out the rest of the world. But we actually do have gun "laws," contrary to popular belief.

So! How about those Rangers???

RJ, can you really hang wallpaper? I've been wondering this since you posted it eons ago, or maybe yesterday.
