Your Tips For Traipsing Pubs is fascinating, but I do have one question, especially relating to your own personal experience.
Do you go to pubs alone? And are you recommending it in your Tips For Survival?
No way am I walking alone into a pub, foreign or domestic, and hollering out "Hey! Hi! Ho, Jimmy!" or anything else. Not only do I want an escort, I would like that escort to be large and burly and of the male persuasion. I don't go looking for trouble, but I have a feeling that would be the perfect place and way to find it!
Maybe a "pack" of girls would be safe, or at least safer, but packs of girls rarely get along, and I just detest all that milling that would be required.
Yes, it's true. We've come full-circle and back to the "Pack vs. Herd Mentality!" But I should go check out my team scores and play some trivia before I get into this.

It's nice to see there is some more competion in Team Heroes. Your team seems to be developing well. How about a challenge next month?
If I ever feel like retiring from running the Pilchards would you send me an invite? It's not likely to happen any time soon but maybe in a few years time. I haven't been blogging recently because I had a slight team problem to sort out, but everything is back to abnormal again and all the Pilchards seem happy.

I wanted to ask Wendy about resolving team problems, too, so I'm glad you leaped in to that one, RJ. The only team problem I've run into was trying to get our team logo uploaded as a crystal-clear black and white photo, and not some fuzzy red mess. Unless I am really missing something, and I don't think I am, we don't have team problems. Maybe I should knock on wood?
Nice job, Counselor, on the "asked and waived" reply. Just don't badger the witness. Hissing badgers -- never so good. If I had known you were so legally adept, I would have sent Interrogatories! I LOVE Discovery!
Wendy! Your avatar looks exactly like a sponge monkey! I've wanted to ask about that, too! I LOVE your avatar! Is that what it is? If you've never seen a sponge monkey, Quizno's used them for awhile in their tv ads, and I swear a stray kitty left one for me on the back porch. I have photos! That HAS to be a sponge monkey!
RJ, you are SO close to us now in all the team tourneys, you've passed us. That's a little too close. Competition is one thing, but swooping in like so many thieves in the night? No way!

RJ - my request for a challenge is between the Pilchards and the Chill Inn, but maybe the Pearls would like to join in as well. I see your point about next month being the festive season so maybe January would be better.
My team problem was a new member who came in and upset some other team members by things she posted on our message board. I did threaten to throw her out of the team but she left of her own accord. My team is now Invite Only so hopefully it won't happen again.

I'm not upset by the last outing, it should be easier to manage this time because we are all 'small' teams.
I will elaborate slightly on the team problem, the new member started a new thread and called us idiots, this obviously upset some team members, she also posted some very low scores on team-v-team. I encourage all the team members to play the team games and our lowest scores are in the 900's but scores in the 400's are too low to be real. Closing the door was inevitable because we now have 28 active players so this incident finally made my mind up to do it.
My knowledge of shape-shifters relates to Star Trek Deep Space Nine - it's a few years since I watched it but I got the impression that you need to be wary of them ;)

Dude! Read up! I'm the one who said "Go Rangers!" Not "Go Giants!" I wasn't personally invested in either team, since I'm a dyed in the wool Rockies fan, but the Rockheads were out, and I liked your pitcher. Old what's his name.
So wait... aren't we in a challenge every day in the team games? I don't know about you two and your teams, but our objective daily is to beat the socks off you! And it's not really going as planned this month now that RJ has put together his team in record time. It has to be that subtle recruiting style. I write private, polite invitations that are blatantly ignored! Maybe it's the dress? I may have to rethink my avatar. It can't be the name. It practically hisses.
And just for the sake of clarification, if you addressed us as The Pearls, we wouldn't know who you meant. We're The Swiners! Cloven-hooved, and proud of it! Thick-skinned and pink! Some of us wear pearls, but as I said, I may have to rethink that avatar.
Wendy, I swear, your avatar is a sponge monkey, and I have to figure out a way for you to see one so you'll know. RJ, can I post links here? I could probably find one, but if push comes to shove (I am tossing about quaint, colloquial expressions all over the place!) I could always change my avatar to a sponge monkey, just so you could see!
I had a delicious latte and little teeny tiny donuts at the hockey game at 10 p.m., a televised game that went into overtime and then a shootout. A LONG hockey game. Now I'm wired to the max, amped to the rafters, loaded for bear!
And speaking of challenges, good luck today with that Heroes topic. Yes, once again, we're doing Authors T-Z, and you know what that means? I'll tell you after everyone plays, in case you've forgotten in a week, but it's not pretty!

I think I will have to change my avatar, to be associated with sponge monkeys is a bit worrysome. Give me a day or two and I'll come up with another puzzler for you. To find the source of my avatar just Google -'Jarvis Cocker Pilchard' and look at images.
Today's heroes is yuk! I hope they come up with something better tomorrow.
