Hi RJ, I work all sorts of hours, but noon to 8pm is the most regular. Sometimes I do 8am to 4pm, so my meal times are very irregular. I'm seriously trying Global Challenge this time but the UK changeover times are 6am and 6pm, so the daytime round is difficult to fit in, but I'll take my laptop to work and do Globals while I eat my lunch.

Almost forgot, Wendy. I've been thinking about that challenge you proposed. We're always up for challenge. This time, I'd like to base the challenge on the team game. Swimmers vs. Chillers....yeah I'd like that. Kind of makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck just thinking about it ;-)

I have an idea!
If we add together the daily average for both team games and see what happens. Your team is better at Team-v-Team and mine team is better at Heroes. That could make an interesting challenge.

Okayyyyyy Chillers and Fishies! But you're leaving out the cloven-hooved Swiners! I think this is a huge mistake!

I probably should run it by our team first, but I think we can take both of you!

I say, bring it on, but good lord, don't make it so complicated with averages and percentages all over the place! I'm here to have fun, not take a math test!

Let me know if you're going to let us into this little showdown, so I can arm... I mean notify my team. (We're already armed -- we've got four apiece!) (Which is why I avoid math at all costs...)

Using the average of averages, when collecting quiz scores builds in unnecessary error propagation in the data. It's best, for the sake of accuracy, to use the actual scores not the averages.
I would like to have the Team vs Team game for the challenge. The Heroes game, I believe, gives an edge to the team who has the time and inclination to "cram" ahead of the quiz. Because my team members all work, we don't have the time to "cram" for the quiz. I'm not implying that you or your team does, but it would behoove those that can to "cram", under the pressure of a competitive situation. The Team game, on the other hand, has a much larger question pool and therefore is more difficult to "cram" for. Therefore, using the team game insures a level playing field for both teams.
Wendy, are your team members in favor of a December game? We could suspend playing on agreed upon days during the challenge.

I like TvT better, all the way around. Those whacky Heroes topics are just impossible lately. I don't "study" for a quiz, but I suppose if one were so inclined, it could be done knowing the topic in advance. This is trivia -- if I don't know it, I'll either learn it or it won't stick, but you do make a valid point, RJ.

I won't mention this to my team until I hear back from The Chillers and The Swimmers, but I'm pretty sure we would be up for the challenge! We're already competing with you, just not formally, I suppose.

OK, RJ, I'll put it to my team, I think just using the daily Team-v-Team score is the easiest way to go. I'm happy to include the Swiners as well. We are all small teams so scoring won't be complicated. All we need to do is look at the final result at the end of the month.
