Wendy of the Pilchards will be appearing at the local pub (the New Inn) every Friday evening, I can't guarantee the quality of the music but the beer is good. As for the other Pilchards - I'm not sure of their musical capabilities, it's a pity FT doesn't have a live skype-type facility then we could all have a good sing-along.
The temperatures here are still remaining above freezing, but we did have a bit of sleety rain last night. Your temperatures in Houston are nearer to our summer temperatures.

I had Skype, when I lived in Plano but my marginal, satellite connection on the outskirts of Houston doesn't have the bandwidth for Skype. The latency of satellite signal doesn't even work well with funtrivia. In the near future, we will all be connected like we were next door neighbors.
I am curious as to what kind of connection you have on that Island, Wendy. I've begged for wireless but no one is out this far yet. I'm hoping the proliferation of the 4G cell phone infrastructure will allow computer modems. I will knock off about two seconds per question when that happens. (Damn is that all I can think of to justify it?)

I'm in the same situation as Breck, but I think he pulled that two second delay out of his pocket. A second and a half maybe....if it isn't overcast, which is virtually never. I'm hoping Santa will get this sorted out for us low tech cowboys. |

I can get broadband on Tresco, through my phone line. The nearest exchange is about 1 1/2 miles away on St.Mary's.

Well, it's all over for another year... well it's past midnight here already ;) and I have to say I'm finding it somewhat bizarre having warm weather at Christmastime. I'd never be able to live Down Under ;D

And then I got a gift card to Wal-Mart and an air freshener thingy on Christmas itself.
Oh, and I had so much fun spending time with my family (which I consider ten times better than presents)
