"Check my avatar, Elle.
That room is right above the portico. The house is an early 30s ranch home but I remodeled it from the ground up about a year ago."
Wow, RJ, it's so green. I imagine Texas as a dry place, but that looks as green as Wales :D And your home is beautiful :)

Texas ranges from very dry to very wet. Houston is what I would call very wet, with an average annual rainfall around 55 inches. For future reference, anywhere along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico is very wet.
In comparison, I think Cardiff Wales' annual average rainfall is about 40 something inches .
BTW, are you back from your hols yet? |

Texas reminds me of Spain. Both the state and the country have mostly temperate weather, border on large bodies of water, and are possessed of desert-like areas, forests, mountains, and plateaus. The real difference? Spain is not fortunate enough to be near Oklahoma. ;)
Elle, are you there yet, all comfortably ensconced in your window seat in the turret? Is RJ making you do a lot of work in the stable, or are the two of you just sitting around admiring your new mirror? :)

Which reminds me, Elle, where is that picture of your new mirror? What is it with women and mirrors? No need to reply, I think I know the answer ;-)

I'm still enjoying sunshine, RJ... should be back in the cold next week :(
Oh, and I'm a bit further west than Cardiff so it's a bit wetter, probably close to 50 inches a year.

Our rain is different color and temperature than Blighties, I think ;-)
I wouldn't go near an airport for about a week if I were you. People are getting real cranky after being shoved together in an airport for three days. They seem to be real upset at the authorities because they are snowed in. Go figure. |

:( My tooth hurts. Half of it fell out this morning, and it took over five hours to get hold of an emergency dentist to give it a temporary fix :'( I'm dreading seeing my own dentist next week - the one today mentioned 'root' and 'canal' in the same breath...
Well I guess it is still 2010, an awful year for me, I'll be glad to see the back of it!

Hi baban, pay no mind to my insensitive teammate.
I'm sorry about your accident and that you had such an unpleasant day. What's the plan for New Years Eve? If you aren't going out, I recommend comfortable cloths an overstuffed chair, two ibuprofen and a large snifter of Pinot Grigio wine.
Here's wishing you a wonderful New Year! |

Nope, Loch, I'm trapped by the storm that finally hit Colorado. Also, I was so overcome by that turret and the fact that it is IN RJ's house, I just sort of typed what I was feeling at the moment, and I think I probably scared the living hell right out of him. He'll probably never speak to me again! But hey, I'm an honest, old-fashioned girl, and it all just sort of flew out at the moment it all hit me. It's a curse, it truly is.

Thanks, RJ. Happy New Year to you, too.
So... can I have that room? Please? Pretty please with sugar on top? I'll even keep the windows cleaned and the leather polished, and hello, I don't do windows, but I'll make an exception. And even an acception.
(I still think I really, really freaked you right out with that one, Cowboy.)
I can't decide what I want to wear tonight, even though I'm staying home in front of the fire. I just know I'm tired of that other dress, which is perfect for NYE! Go figure.
Got big plans to go boot skootin' tonight? It's a really great night here for the hottub, with the snow falling. I love that part. But I won't be able to see the stars. Oh well, life is a series of tradeoffs.

Stop raising hell and it might be a possibility. :)
20 minutes to go til New Year, Nerdlet is partying like a wild thing in Brighton, the rest of us are awaiting the Brian Blessed-like character of my father who will insist on First Footing us.
Complete with ceremonial coal, money and whisky.
My mother will be trailing in his wake, carrying all the medical paraphernalia he requires to stay vertical.
Bracing for impact...

Geez, Morpheus. That's TWICE she has begged you for that room. It seems to me that Elle will walk over people to get that room in your house. You have to give it her now.
