Just curious, when you finally won that badge, do you still continue playing that particular category or do you move on to win different badges?

merrijig There are usually more badge inducements on offer at that game in the same category, so it's worth checking it out and then deciding. On the other hand, if the game gives you a buzz, keep playing anyway I guess. It's a question of personal choice I suppose.

I continue, but with a different strategy

It's no time to be resting on one's laurels. I still plug away, albeit at a slightly lesser pace. You never know, another badge might be added someday. A 100,000 point badge, could you imagine it?

Still play, but less obsessively.. or a bit less obsessively anyway ;-)

Yes, I do keep playing that category even after winning the badge but I don't try to be on the top, I leave that for those still to win the badge and frankly I get a bit annoyed when i see the same people time and again on the top and you have to know they already have the badge. Frankly I consider that poor sportsmanship I only play it for the points score, and don't actually chase badges, most of what I have have popped up unexpectedly, except for the badgelets which I did try to win.

I have to agree. I know that when I went for my Endurance badge, someone that already had it backed off when they saw that I was trying for it. I thought that was very nice and sportsmanlike of them :)

I had the opposite experience on Endurance. The first couple of times I went for it, I played all day, posted a big score 32,000 and 48,000 from memory. Tired I went to bed but in both cases woke to find myself marginally below a player who already had the badge but made the effort to ensure I didn't.
Undaunted I tried again - posted 20000+ and went to bed. Woke early to find myself 2nd again but with an hour to make up the gap. Job done

nautilator I play but not as obsessively -- there are quite a few badges that require a lot of energy to get, so I usually focus my energy on the one I don't have.

TheAnswerIs9 That depends. I would probably move on to other badges, but still play that category for the extra points.

Once I've won a badge I usually concentrate on something else for a while, but can't resist continuing with the Word Wizard as there I have an almost compelling need to play a few more games each day ;o)

If it's a category that has my personal interest then I continue playing, maybe not as frequent as before I got the badge.

After I win a badge I usually continue playing as there are always more treats to get - e.g. points leading to another badge. But I must admit that after winning GQR I am feeling rather exhausted and I´ll probably take some rest especially from quizes.

Does one brag or gloat after earning a badge or doing a challenge? I keep persuing knowledge and accomplishment somehow. I hope it is not an obsession? I do like this website! Some challenges are out of reach...but still something to consider possibly later. I like to play a little trivia each day to unwind. There will always be another challenge to persue after a badge is earned!

I still play the category if it is part of a lerger scene. Hoever, some require a lot of work like the hourly quizzes. I just dont have time in life to do this 18/24 hours every month. Sometimes yes.

kysus I think keep on playing. A player can always better their own time. Some like Word Wizard and Mind Melt have me hooked. So even winning all the badges I think I would still play them.

After winning Monthly Obscure for this past month, I will continue to play the game, but definitely not nearly so often.
