Generally I still play them even after having won the badge in order to accumulate the points. Attaining a point level counts the same as a badge.

Depends. I usually only play tournaments and games for the badges - I don't really find them very interesting. However, individual quizzes are played for their own sake, and whether or not there is a badge attached has absolutely no effect on my playing habits.
If all of the tournaments, games, badges and levels were to disappear tomorrow, it wouldn't make a very big change in my FT day. However, if they were to stay but the individual quizzes disappeared, I wouldn't even bother coming here.

I do like to win the badges, but I'm happy playing the quizzes anyway!

I was really proud when I got my team Stakeholder badge, that was an accomplishment on its own. A little bit of friendly competition is always fun, but so is just having a good time and learning new things.

For some badges, like 200 brains, you don't actually have to focus on it, just try and get another one. Most hourly/daily quizzes have more than one badge you can win, and after I've won the most badges possible for me in that game, I move on.

There are many badges and challenges within the daily and hourly games that I don't see myself ever getting. I'm not good at authoring new quizzes, questions, and crosswords, so I probably won't get the authoring badges. Also, my knowledge of most subjects isn't very good, other than most sports, television, and some music and movies. As far as the daily games like the world quiz, pot of gold, who am i, etc etc.. it will take me a long time to win those badges where you have to get 5000 points for that particular game. I'm still trying to win badges, but for the most part, I joined this site to play all the individual quizzes. I think I saw that the level perks ended after 80 badges, so that is my goal, to get 80 badges, then we'll see from there

Actually, it ends after 80 levels not 80 badges. Levels include badges AND points.

Thanks for the correction Buddy. I knew what I meant to say, I just said the wrong thing. The level perks end after 80 levels, so that is my main goal, to get to level 80. Then I will focus more on just playing the individual quizzes for a while.

Most of my badges came without me actively trying for them, the only one i deliberately went for was Grad, and now i'm trying to get the I see all badge, but my pyschic abilities are obviously redundant :) don't think i'll ever get that one.

Unless I'm going for a Monthly I abandon the hourly games. I LOVE all the dailies except Who Am I and World Quiz so I try to get them all.

Usually I continue to play. The monthly obscurity was the only one that I needed to take a break from after I got the badge.

I usually move on, but I try to complete all of the similar badges for moving on. For example, I'll continue playing quizzes until I get the Big Brain, Super Brain, and Atomic Brain, and after that, I'd slow down a bit to focus on other badges. In addition, I'm going for the Fortune Teller badge, and when I get it, I'll still play the game, but I'd relax a bit and play it at my leisure rather than trying to play every hour.
I feel that getting a badge will help me take parts of the site less seriously rather than not playing it at all. It can also help me focus on areas that I'm having trouble in, like in my case, anything involving the Mind Melt.

It doesn't normally make any difference. I won't play anything I don't enjoy, and I shan't enjoy it any less for having a badge. (I've just won a monthly badge I didn't even realise I was in the running for.)
The exception to that was the knockout. The first time I played, I was two points off winning. After that, I was lucky to get past the first round, and luckier to get past the second round: or got to the final but forgot to play and later found my email reminders in Spam.
I got 50 knockout points before I got the winner badge, and my failure to win became a running joke. People who had more than one win were offering me their spare badges. My struggle to win became a dig-heels-in grit-teeth get-it-if-it-kills-me.
It took me a year to get it. I collapsed in a heap and said Never Again! and I haven't played it since.
