Following a very popular thread started by Gillimalta on 139 Class Board which ceased to exist I´ve decided to continue.

The rules are simple. I think I am someone and you ask some yes/no questions. The one who has the right guess is "it" and can continue.

So, who the heck am I?

Although he did play some "tragic hero" types, he was more well known for roles as an optimistic average joe kinda guy.

He died of cancer well after his main career ended.

Most Canadians think of Mr. Massey as a Canadian (born here, educated here, served in our armed forces in WW1) and Americans were very upset when he was chosen to play Mr. Lincoln. However, you're very close to the birth year.
