I watched every Brooklyn game I could, many at Ebbets Field from about 1951 on (when he was already 32 years old) having been disqualified from playing in his peak years, and even then he played like a 25 year old kid.
talk with some of your baseball watching friends from back in the day and ask them who was the most feared, most exciting baserunner.
Again -IMO -and that of zillions of sportswriters, players,announcers,fans etc
Most importantly remember he accomplished everything he did while playing under the most intense pressure any player )maybe in any sport) has ever had to play under.
BTW : I'm as white as Gil Hodges and Pee Wee etc.
