LOL. Define "long".
I've been dead about a 1/4 century.

Lol, that's just ordinary lingo here. "Will you be at work long?" or "Was he dead long?" and so on. I suppose it does sound a bit odd.
Hmm, an American good-looking nerd who's been dead (long :)) about 50 years. Blank. Have to think about that one

Actually Jan, now I think about it I guess it would seem a funny expression - "long" But it happens in different countries. You should hear some of the episodes of my daughter putting her foot in her mouth when she first settled in California - what was everday to us, was way out of line there. LOL

"nerd" as in Creedy described (can't say I've ever heard of The Duke described as a nerd, but then I don't get out much lol)
I don't see anything wrong with the foot thing, mommakat, I'd just call that flexible : )

I waa clutching at straws and going on the "deceased" period. Personally I thought he was great but then not everyone has the same tastes. :)

Poor old Duke. He had a horrible death.
Professor Julius Sumner Miller? Was he appealing to the ladies?

You're kidding, right Creedy? : ) Hope so, 'cuz I'm absolutely killing myself laughing here. Absolutely a very fun/entertaining tv show, but........
I'm a bit more of a 'regular' scientist however. In fact, I won a Nobel prize.

p.s. Oh I don't mind anyone's definition of "long" (I just need to know what that is). It differs according to relativity. For instance, we "think" Earth has been around 4.5 billion years. We "think" Man has been around for about 65,000 years. Those can both be considered a "long" time. But then again, if you're 25 years old, 10 years is probably an "EON" LOL. Kinda like trying to define the word "normal" : )))

Actually Jan colloquial (now there's a word for CB) terms can cause a bit of hilarity between people of different cultures I am sure you will agree.
