First game of the NFL preseason is played tonight! What a beautiful time of year :D. Any predictions for the season? Anybody else love to play fantasy football?

I very much dislike the Broncos. However, that pales in my comparison for my utter hatred of the Chargers. Especially since Schottenheimer (once he left the Chiefs, that took a bit out of that rivalry) taught the Chargers how to beat the Raiders. Luckily, most the players from that team (notably Tomlinson) are gone so hopefully their hatred for the Raiders has waned back to normal levels. Norv Turner is driving that team into the ground. To me, it is insulting that the Chargers have the win streak they do against the Raiders. Akin to the Clippers having a several game win streak against the Lakers. I know the ship will get righted soon.

As a USC alum/fan, I do like Fargas. He hits the hole hard and while he doesn't have explosive speed, he does run tough. However, honestly, he was going to be a 3rd string back behind Bush and McFumbles. I'm glad for him that he got released to get the chance to play somewhere else. A shame it's for a division rival, though.

Anyways, as far as this Raider fan sees rivalries, I can think of a reason to hate every other team in the league. Dozens of reasons for some. :)

I can think of 48 reasons why you hate the Bucs. :D

I can think of many more than that.

What they did to Bo Jackson to prevent him from playing his senior season of baseball, attempting to short-circuit his pro baseball career, was beyond unconscionable.

I'm glad to see that their record the last several years has been almost as atrocious as the Raiders.

The year before last was great. Considering it was a bad season for the Raiders, the two games they won at the end against Denver and Tampa Bay was very sweet since it caused 2 nemeses (Shanahan and Gruden) to get fired. Not Super Bowl sweet but good enough. I am sure I wasn't the only Raider fan to grin at that.

Raider fans weren't the only ones that were glad to see Gruden get fired from Tampa. Some of us Buc fans also wanted him out. Gruden showed how overrated he really was his last few years.

raidersfan15 schoonie, you DEFINITELY weren't the only Raiders fan to see Gruden get fired. it made me laugh quite a bit

Even with the Raiders, he had way too conservative a game plan. Frustrating. And he was a media whore on top of it all.

lout62001 Three things come to mind when I think about the upcoming season in the NFL. The Saints will not repeat as champions, the Cowboys will make it to the Super Bowl, and the Bengals will miss the playoffs because Terrell Owens is now there.

I just had a vision about Atlanta making the Super Bowl. If any of you are thinking of betting on the Falcons to win the NFC, don't do it.

sportsfanmas What an opening night game we have tonight. A rematch of the NFC championship. I think the Saints will underachieve this year. However, my pick to win the NFC is between 3 teams: Dallas, Minnesota, and New Orleans, so tonights game will be a good early season test. I can't wait until Monday, because my Kansas City Chiefs have the late Monday night game. Already got the DVR set up to record that one.

lout62001 The Saints were less than impressive in their victory over the Vikings, however, they won. The Vikings on the other hand looked even worse as the Favre magic was simply non-existent.

sportsfanmas I agree, definitely not the season opener i was expecting.

I have to say the Lions deserved to beat the Bears today, Calvin Johnson's catch at the end was a touchdown using common sense, but I suppose those convoluted NFL rules have to be enforced. I can understand the rule, but referees should know the difference between the meaning and the intent of the rule. In this case, it goes for Chicago, but we didn't earn the win.

Of course, that's assuming we don't score in the last 24 seconds if the Lions do get the TD, and looking at the end of the first half, we very well might have.

Well my picks aren't looking good after week one, but it was only week one. The 49ers looke horrible and so did the Raiders. I picked the Vikings with Favre but tha was before Sidney Rice was out. Or at least before I heard about it. I'll stick with my picks and see how the season turns out. I'm upset with my fantasy however. I had two bench guys have more points then my starters. Also I decided to start the Chargers defense over the Titans. I know the Chargers haven't played yet, but it will be difficult to match the points of the Titans. I'm down by 27 points with the Chargers defence and Phillip Rivers to go. So it is possible to win. If I started the Titans I would only need 14 points from Rivers to win.

Fantasy wise - I got BURNED.

Both Grant and Kolb going out with injuries in first half - lost around 40 points from that alone. Irritating. Hope injuries aren't too severe, otherwise season is a damn wash.

Raiders need to get some offensive linemen that don't suck. Plain and simple. Mario Henderson is a joke. Just like I said about Bush's presidency, an orange traffic cone could do a better job and allow less damage on its watch.

Cowboys lose after a last-second TD is ruled out over a holding call!
