First game of the NFL preseason is played tonight! What a beautiful time of year :D. Any predictions for the season? Anybody else love to play fantasy football?

It's pretty well-known I'm a Bears fan. My take:

Jay Cutler is fine. The guy had a sprained MCL. If the guy can't protect himself, you don't want him out there. Caleb Hanie's performance makes me feel more secure that the Bears have a backup they can go to. Todd Collins was a disaster. It's still Cutler's team. Again, I'm optimistic about the future.

Cutler is a bum. I have nightmares about him being traded to the Chiefs. Steelers 31, Packers 10.

Daver, I like the Steelers to win, too, but it's going to be Steelers 28, Packers 17. Green Bay's been riding high on a broke down team with a bunch of replacements. Something has to give and Pittsburgh's defense is the one who's going to give it.

I'm not a big Cutler guy but how do you know how hurt he was. Also Chicago has a terrible line. He was a sitting duck. Don't forget this guy was sacked 9 time by the Giant's before he had to come out for a concussion. He also took a beating when playing for Vanderbilt not exactly a college powerhouse. This guy is tough and has a big time arm. Give him a line that can keep him upright and he will have some big seasons.

Skyflyerjen Steelers 23, Packers 16
But I am (this is odd for me) rooting for the Packers.

I've been wrestling with this. I finally have a prediction for today's game.

Pittsburgh's ability to run the ball, paired with Green Bay's somewhat limited running game will give the Steelers the win.

Pittsburgh 27, Green Bay 24.

A very, very good game. Congratulations to the Packers and their fans. I have to say, though, that Christina Aguilera butchered the national anthem, the halftime show was the worst I've ever seen, and Jordy Nelson deserved the MVP.

Well, the halftime show wasn't Up With People at least! I DO wish singers of the Star Spangled Banner would resist the urge to frill it up. It's majestic enough on its own. In the end, Pittsburgh was their own worst enemy. Going -3 in turnover margin pretty much doomed them to defeat.

And to think people didn't listen to me when I told them to take Green Bay minus the points and the over. Oh well, their loss.

Well done the Pack, the Lombardi Trophy is going home.

Skyflyerjen Jordy Nelson had a nice game, but with all of those dropped asses, I don’t think he deserved the MVP. Dropped passes and foolish penalties almost cost the Packers the game!

NFL negotiations have broken off.A lockout coming?

j-zilch Jim Zorn is now the Quarterback coach for the KC Chiefs.

I don't like it. He's not a good head coach and I don't see him being any better as a QB coach.

What do y'all think about this?

Skyflyerjen I don’t think he got a lot of respect from his players when he coached Washington. I don’t really see him doing much for the Chiefs; Jason Campbell was mediocre during Zorn’s tenure. Who knows, maybe he’ll be an excellent QB coach! I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Matt Cassel had a decent year; he just needs to be more consistent… maybe Zorn can help.
