Topic: Brain Collecting?

Subject: Brain Collecting?
Date: Aug 10 10

Since I am generally fairly busy, I can't bring myself to play a hundred quizzes or more to earn "Endurance." In fact, I have trouble investing the time to earn even one brain. How about you? Are you a hardcore-quizzing brain collector?

nautilator Playing the hourly and daily games gives you a lot of points that help. Playing on weekends when fewer people are on helps too.

brianbreese I'll get a Super Brain badge tonight. 500 brains. Been on since December 2011. Part-time player, compared to many.

I paid attention to the brains briefly when I was expecting my first brain badge. That's when I learned that you don't always get credited for the brains you earned in a day-it's like the computer forgets to award them and there's nothing you can do about it. It always seemed to happen to me when I had earned 24 or 25 brains, too. That's when I decided it wasn't worth paying attention to it.

I actually won Endurance a couple days ago. I was never really into it before, and actually had no idea what the Endurance badge was until I suddenly found myself at the top of the list for the day. I got to the top because that day I'd had nothing better to do (well nothing better that I wanted to do) and decided to go for all the badgelets I could get. I ended the day with 15 more badgelets and 2 more full badges than I'd started with that day, and I think I finished with 52,000 odd points. I will never do that again, but since then I've become interested in collecting brains, and after today I will have 200 and get the first brain badge!

I decided to play a mini quiz badge in a day and think it took maybe 12-14 hours, and found had someone else not played full on and got about 10,000 more points it would have got me the endurance as well. I've just got the atomic brain so although they'll keep adding up there aren't any further badges, and endurance is a lottery as some days 25,000 can get it which is around what I got, others double that (which shouldn't be possible considering the time involved but some people can skip a night's sleep).

satguru: the day I won Endurance I played straight for I think 18 or so hours (playing while eating lunch and dinner as well). I played as many hourly games as I could manage as well as all the quizzes I could get my hands on. Playing quizzes that together earned me badglets, and the All Round Quizzer badge also gave me bonus points for completion, which helped! The trick to getting more points out of your quizzes is to play the more difficult ones (because these offer bonus points for quiz difficulty) because you don't have to play as many to get more points for the same number of questions. I also looked for answers to questions on Google (since research is perfectly legal and you learn more that way anyway!), so I got more questions correct in each quiz which meant I got more points for each quiz I played. Playing quizzes with more questions also meant more points for less quizzes.

We, people, are unpredictable. I wrote in post 3, I would never sacrifice a day to the Endurance Badge, voila, I got it. Never say never:)

Made the sacrifice and earned the Endurance Badge.
