What's on my mind tonight? I am having two MRI's - brain and spine - on Monday, and while I am not claustrophobic, the thought of being in that teeny, tiny little tube for so long is already giving me a serious case of nerves. (Which does wonderful things for the ulcers.)
Trying to decide on appropriate music to listen to on the headphones during the tests. Weird Al, maybe? |

| I've had the MRI before (and survived, obviously), but when they tell you not to open your eyes in the tube, they tell you that for a really good reason. Being the rebel I am (and curious, too)....I opened my eyes. Not opening them this time. Nope. Uh-uh. Not happening. |

I didn't have my glasses on so it would have made precious little difference if I had opened my eyes. It wasn't that much fun but at least it was a good excuse for a rest.
Can you take a CD to listen to while they'e doing it? or sing along to the different rhythm patterns the machine makes?

When I had mine (several, in fact) they asked me what kind of music I wanted to listen to. I wasn't sure-but they have CDs of stuff that is played on the alternative rock stations I listen to at home (some of theCDs I even own). Helps muffle that awful noise, but... [The one time I had a series of MRIs-and at least one of those I wasn't allowed to wear headphones].

MRI is the one that 'bangs' loudly? I'm sure they gave me some kind of sedative...

I have had a couple but they are a blur. Once when I had my stroke. One before my heart by-pass. I sure don't remember much about them.

| I wasn't sedated the last time, because I wasn't scared....until I opened my eyes. This time, the neuro has prescribed Xanax. |

What?
I'm in my pajamas, Beth. You better not see me (I now have a webcam on my computer but the eye is covered by a happy face).

Don't worry, Deunan, I'm in my flannel PJ's too. Pajamas are perfectly acceptable blogwear!
You're right, Sat, it's good to be back here among the friendly, familiar faces. I haven't totally abandoned the 'other' blog, but my friends are here, so I am too! |

| The Furry Terrors are doing great. They're even (grudgingly) learning to get along. Right now, Bubba is sitting in my lap, making little 'chirping' noises. He knows his Mama is nervous. |

Is that Bubba in your avatar? Now, there's a handsome cat (and probably one To Be Obeyed, as well). :)

| Yes, that's Bubba. The photo stretched a little bit when I put it on as my avatar. He is a big boy, but not that big! |

| And yes, he is King of the Household. I always say that this is Bubba's house - and he allows me to live here! |
