Well, this won't be filled with profound insights and I'm not as good at humor as I'd like to be, but I miss my old blog - and the opportunity to chat with YOU! So....here I am. More to follow; just saying hi for now.

The friend who owned Rocky before i did found a bunch of pictures of him from when he was under a year old and posted them on facebook tonight. With her permission, I took them and made an album of Rocky's early years. I've never seen any photos of him from before I got him, so these pictures really mean a lot to me. :)

In a couple of the pictures, he's in a pink ballerina outfit from Build-a-Bear. In another, he's in the shower (at about 5 or 6 months old) because he'd fallen in the toilet.

Lumbar puncture FINALLY scheduled - for Monday, the 17th. I am officially scared...but at least they are going to put me out for the actual test. Then 4 - 6 hours in recovery. It's the possible after-effect (a 'spinal headache') that I am dreading.

Good luck, Beth. Do you have someone to bring you home afterwards?

Good morning, everybody! Thank you so much for your good wishes! The lumbar puncture went well; they put me out so I didn't feel the needles. My neck and back were very stiff and sore last night but I'm a little better this morning. Just a bit of a headache and I'm walking like a pregnant duck...but generally doing okay.

This is probably the only morning of my life that I have an excuse to have an EXTRA cup of coffee! (Helps to hopefully prevent the dreaded 'spinal headache'.)

When will you know the results, Beth?

I think that will be at my next neuro appointment on the 26th.

I wonder how Beth's appointment with her neuro went and what she learned from her spinal tap.

Waiting....waiting...hoping everything is ok.....

Beth?

lesley153 Yoohoo Beth - where are you?

I'm sure she's just busy (wishful thinking? [hope not])

Here I am!

Results are in. Spinal fluid is 'on the low end of abnormal'. So no new treatment at this time. He upped my Gabapentin and I have to have another MRI in 3 months. He said it is likely slow-progressing MS. The Gabapentin is helping, so for now, all is well.

I'm sorry for not posting earlier, but I'm sick today, so came home from the neuro's and laid down for awhile.

Change of subject, but I am wondering: Do most cats clean between their toes? Either Rocky is extremely fastidious...or Bubba is a slob!
