Leaving hospital today! Going to moms for a few days b4 I go home. Hard decision not to stop home for favorite PJs and say hi to my 2 guys but daughter said would likely upset me even more than my favorite little guy.

(Might be a hard decision but sounds like the best one. Good on Beth's mum!)

rebooting the iPhone doesn't work here because it just comes up 'no service'. But it worked in the hospital (when I was too sick an groggy to use it) and it worked while we were parked outside my house. It'll be great once I go home and am resting in bed. :)

OK, this was about her phone, not about her. I posted it to show that she's posting!
Most of the comments on Beth's posts have been along the lines of get well, but don't rush it. Sounds sensible.

Not feeling up to 'really' writing anything yet (lot of pain this morning) but I had to share this: My mom is in the kitchen, picking the raisins out of her Raisin Bran and putting them in her husband's bowl before they have breakfast. How cute is that! :)

Beth has posted a couple of times today. It's hard work moving in with your mum when you're an adult! but I think they're managing to work round it. Beth is certainly sounding livelier.

I mentioned Beth to Jonathan, and he asked if I remembered what a foul mood he'd been in. (Actually, no, sorry...) "We had some shouting matches in the hospital." Oh yes - I remember once he was cross and upset because I couldn't come straight over - it was 6am and I was in the bath!
He said it's difficult when you're in pain, can't move, full of drugs. Of course it is. But it's seven years ago, and I can't remember any foul moods. I just remember it being physically difficult.
Hang in there, Beth! Not long before you're up and about and smiling again! (((((())))))

I am told that Rocky came out every day to greet the people who came to feed and check on them. He very happily accepted cuddles, scritchies and love from everyone. Bubba is grumpy.

is HOME! Bubba has decided to forgive me immediately so he can have cuddles. Rocky is more concerned with the bags on the floor (and the changes in his environment) and has not yet greeted me. Home. Home, home, HOME! :)

Hi, everybody! Not really up to my full moderating duties yet, but I wanted to check in and tell everyone thank you for the prayers, warm thoughts and good wishes. A special thank you to Lesley for keeping all of you updated while I was not able to do so.
Still in quite a lot of pain. And yet it's SO hard to pull myself away from the computer after just a few minutes....because all of my friends are there! Bubba has been attached to my side like kitty velcro. And Rocky is still learning that he needs to get out of the way of that big funny-looking thing with wheels (my walker) before it runs him over. I've never used it in the house before, and both cats are a little confused and frightened by it.
I'm currently working on a very special birthday hat for Bubba. His 12th birthday is only 2 days away, and tradition dictates that he wear a special party hat while consuming his can of birthday tuna. I'm making yarn pompoms to adorn the top of the hat, something that will pass a lot of time while I'm lying in bed.
When the man came to fit me for a back brace, he told me I'd have to wear it 24/7, except for showers. But the nurses and physical therapist told me I can take the thing off when I'm in bed. Woohoo! I can lose the medieval torture device while resting! An added incentive to lie down and rest!
Going to attempt a very short walk outside tomorrow - my first in many, many months - if my health, energy level and the weather permit. Been off my feet for so very long that I have a definite case of stir-craziness! Still not sure what the surgery has meant for my MS. There was a chance it work make the MS worse, but the pinched nerves were already exacerbating the MS symptoms, so I figure I'll come out ahead in any case. Once healed from this surgery, my neuro says it will be time to talk about the heavy-hitter: self-injections of MS meds. Dreading that, but the MS Society sends someone to the home who will stay the entire day, if necessary, to ensure the patient is entirely comfortable with self-injecting.
Well, I guess I've rambled on for long enough. Will try to update tomorrow, after the much-anticipated walk.
