It was made before 2005 and it is not set in America.
No animals involved!
And yes the pisture itself did win awards inlcuding an Oscar.
And JaneofGaunt ... LOL, but no aliens involved and not set in outer space.
There are some similarities between Picard and me though, we both boldly go ... and go bald. ;-)

It has some funny moments, but overall it is a drama.
