Well, imdb lists it as comedy and fantasy even though I don't think that fantasy is an appropriate term, let's say there are some "not so realistic" elements in it.
It's not a remake nor has it been remade. It is an original story, but the characters are well known.

It has been nominated for a minor award, but no nominations for actors or picture.
Honestly I'm not even sure that the name of the city it is set in was given, so I suppose it is safe to say it's not a major city.
