No on both. One of the principal actors in this movie died in his/her 50s of lymphoma, possibly as a result of exposure to radioactive fallout during the filming of "The Conqueror" in 1956.

Also with Dick Powell, Ruby Keeler, and Ginger Rogers, "Gold Diggers of 1933"?

By the way, one of my clues was a little tricky; Dick Powell wasn't in the cast of "The Conqueror," but he directed the film, one of the worst ever.

The Conqueror is one of the worst ever, despite two attempts, I never made it past the first half hour!
John Wayne allegedly said about it: "H*ll, it's just a Western with different costumes."
Okay I got one.

Oh wow, lots of questions, now let me see:
made in the current century?
No, in the 20th century
Would you take your 8 year old to see it?
Well, I don't have an 8 year old, but yes it's movie that children can watch too.
Was it a documentary?
No, fiction movie.
Is it a horror flick?
No, it's not a horror movie, it's comedy and a bit of drama.
would it be considered "film noir"
No, it's not a film noir.
Is it animated?
No animation either.
are there lots of special effects/stunts?
Due to the plot there are a few scenes in the beginning that surely required stuntmen, but it's not a stunt or action oriented movie. Oh and no special effects either.

Maybe I should be more precise, children can watch it (I believe I was around 8 or 9 first time I saw it), but it's not actually a children's movie.
