It's not Rain Man or One Flew Over the Cockoo's Nest.
It was released after 1980, in the 2000s to be exact, was nominated for some Awards (at Film Festivals for example), but not for an Oscar or Golden Globe.
It is set in the USA and portrays something very typical American.
