Spot on, Jakeroo. It was indeed 'Primary Colors' - a rather thinly veiled portrayal of some of the incidents in Bill Clinton's presidency. It was based on what was originally an anonymously published book of the same name. For quite a while there was a guessing game as to who was this author with such inside knowledge of the Clintons. It turned out to be Joe Klein. The film starred John Travolta, Emma Thompson and Kathy Bates.
