Bingo! We have a winner from nitram67's True Romance. Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino being the common link.
On a separate note, RIP Alex Karras, the guy who played Mungo in Blazing Saddles. 'Mungo only pawn in game of life'.

Alright, let's try one.
American sports movie; comedy. Made in America about an American sport just to avoid confusion.

No, although players in this sport do sometimes wear helmets. This movie's setting is about 25 yrs. after the era of Leatherheads.

Right sport but not involving children. This movie was nominated for a screenwritng Oscar but didn't win. There was a bit of 'science' about this movie & I use that term loosely.

You Got it. I swear it use to rerun every saturday or sunday afternoon on our local station. Ray Milland was one of my favorite classic actors because of it. It also featured a very young looking Alan Hale Jr. well before he was The Skipper on Gilligan's Island. Your Go Jakeroo.

British film, released in this century. I suppose it's labelled as a comedy/drama, but I think it leans more towards drama (from a female point of view).
