Clue: This subject and genre is fairly common in American films and as I stated had some very big name stars in it. Surprisingly enough one of them was cast in the role of a villian when he is generally the big hero.

Not Johnny Guitar! This was not a cowboys and indians type Western and as I said previously had a lot of big name stars in it. The lead was not known for doing Westerns as far as I know. But the lead actor had a hand in the production of the film.

To answer all questions, so far no one has guessed it. It was not a John Wayne Film but there were at least 6 big name stars in it. The setting was Western though not your usual cowboys and indians style. The lead Star had a hand in the production of said film. One of the leading ladies is an English actress. It centred on water rights for cattlemen, I think that should give it to you.

Spot on T1, starring Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Charles Bickford, Jean Simmons, Burl Ives, just to mention a few. I saw it again on TV the other day - great production. Now over to you.

Not "No Country etc". (Great film.)
It's not an American film, although the action was filmed in that country.
