I've heard of pink gin, but never red gin. It isn't sloe gin, by any chance?

That's it! It doesn't mention it being a burgundy sloe gin on the bottle so I was confused!
Thanks for your help, pop round and have a glass with us if you're in the area!

I don't remember Sloe gin tasting like sherry or having a sediment.
The first time I had it was when my future husband and I spent the evening at my parents. I was just 17,and I was 6 months pregnant.
My parents were going out that evening and my mother put out a bottle of homemade blackberry wine for us to drink.
I had one glass and said wow that's enough - future hubby had 3 glasses and was pie-eyed!
Mum comes home and, as was her way, shouts before asking questions.
We had drank the homemade bottle of Sloe Gin that her next door neighbor had given her (with instructions that it had to be left for at least a year)
She stopped shouting when she realised she was to blame for taking the wrong bottle out!
