Well, it's about -1 here, it might be a tad colder now. It's been snowing here for the last 6 hours and isn't showing any signs of stopping! It looks lovely, but no fun driving in snow, so I hope it's stopped by Monday morning!

I read online somewhere that our incredibly warm temperatures are due to some kind of high altitude air currents converging in such a way that the jet stream can't dip down over the northern United States as it usually does, bringing us all that Arctic air from Canada. Instead, Europe is getting our weather. To all our friends across the pond, I'd like to say: you're welcome to it!

Well, the snow stopped last night and today it's thawing. The temperature on my car was 8 degrees earlier, positively tropical :)

I read this morning that the Balkans have suffered a major snowstorm and that many people have died from the abnormally cold temperatures. It's so warm here that most Americans don't appreciate how cold it is in Europe. This story says it best:

Goodness! When was that photo taken? Last year at this time, we had a couple of feet of snow on the ground, and temps were below zero. Today I went to the store and didn't even bother to put on a jacket. Yippee!

lesley153 It was taken this week. If you have a bit of a look round, you'll see people climbing up frozen waterfalls, and snow on beaches. The sea off Dorset was starting to freeze too.

It was -1 earlier today in southern Norway (so that is Celsius, NO idea in Fahrenheit!).

It's been pretty cold here the last couple days, this morning it was -34C (i think its around -20C right now) on friday/saturday we had a massive snowstorm that dumped almost 39cms, and knocked the power out until yesterday afternoon, that was a couple very cold days

C30 Patchy fog, which seems to be slowly clearing - bright, sunny but feels cold, currently 41F, but expected maximum of 49F.
About par for early March.

39 degrees and raining steadily in Amarillo TX. Looks like this could signal the end of our "drought of Biblical proportions." I'm hoping.
