I'm not sure what you mean by "this type' of movie.
I enjoyed it. It's a comedy, but if you are worried about the possible 'blasphemy', understand that there is a lesson learned :-)

Yes, I agree. If you liked "Oh,God" with George Burns...really, really funny...or maybe "Heaven Can Wait" and those sorts of movies where a bumbling egotist of a person needs some heaven-sent life lessons?
You have to like Jim Carey. He's...just like himself, in this movie. The usual outrageous. I think "Bruce Almighty" is more a guy movie. It's about the kind of things guys typically would wish if they could play God for a day. But it's still fun for the other half. Isn't Jennifer Aniston his wife? She's always sweet.
I would say watch a little bit of it and if it's not your cup of tea, send it on back. That is a great thing about Netflix.

I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan, but this movie actually did make me laugh! I bought it on dvd recently. I think it's one of his best movies.

It was pretty funny and I find myself watching it occassionally on HBO or Encore. It also doesn't focus on one denomination of western religions, because it pertains to any of the religions stemming from the sons of Abraham (no mention of Jesus, the New Testament, Mohammed, etc...).

Bruce Almighty is awful. Don't watch it and let in taint your brain. Put it in the return sleeve and send it back to Netflix ASAP. Then wash your hands and arms up to the elbows.

I really liked it. Humor was good but the drama in it was great too..I didn't find anything offensive in it.
