As this is a chain game it goes in here. Inspired by the 'Ask me' thread I thought of a true free association thread, where you simply write what you thought of after reading the last entry. No theme whatsoever of course, as it's basically what comes into your head first automatically. I'll start it off.

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Oops, I've been started off now... Kentish Town, Ladbroke Grove, West End Lane, Willesden High Road, South Kenton, Swiss Cottage, Chalk Farm Road, Brownlow Road, Silver Street, Ferry Lane, Turnpike Lane, Black Boy Lane, Hornsey High Street, the twists and turns of 51 years around the same places over and over again. And I wouldn't want any other.

lesley153 I've lived in or near half these places, and I got married in Brownlow Road! The flat in Abbey Road faced Quex Road, noted for the church which I was told was popular for the funerals of IRA members, and was near West End Lane and Kilburn High Road. O civilisation.

I saw a movie about the UK once. No, on second thought, it was about the Boer War. Breaker Morant, I think.

I saw a film about the US once. "A River Runs Through It". Liked that.

lesley153 I met an American woman who recognised my English accent because she'd watched "The Forsyte Saga" on the television.

I don't watch TV other than the National News and that is about as much drama and heartache as I can endure, before bed time. With so many people watching the media, not only for news, but for history and geography lessons as well. You'd think the media would have an obligation to report accurately. It seems, almost everything we watch is biased to some degree. I understand that Money trumps all but biasing leaves us with a skewed reality of our world. I don't like having to research everything I view in the media. Well, except James Bond, I know that is factual.

You are such a wise man,RJ. I agree with everything in your last post. Especially the James Bond part.

I went to school with James's brother,Premium Bond. And his dad,Government, was a fine fiddler!

Basildon was never talked about. I think he'd been written off. :))

I've heard they drifted apart, unlike the ever present Co-valent Bond.

I have travelled far and wide, but when I realised I still missed Finchley I knew where I really belonged.

As for Basildon that's on my railway list- Southend Central, Leigh on Sea, Chalkwell, Upminster, Emerson Park, Goodmayes, Maryland, Stepney East (now Limehouse although it hasn't moved anywhere), London Fields (about 7 miles from the nearest field), Bruce Grove, Grange Park, Enfield Town. That's a quick summary of London's Eastern Region stations where I used to go and collect the used tickets from.

Red, "A River Runs Through It" isn't about the US. It's about Montana. Not the same thing, at all. Montana -- same planet; different world.

I love going for vacations in Montana. The parts that I've seen are beautiful.

Being a trainspotter's far too easy and mundane for me, I did something far more obscure after a group at school started me off, collecting the used train tickets. With over 2000 stations then the combinations of possible journeys are in the millions (I'm guessing, I'm not numeric) and provided the perfect criteria for my collecting requirement. The latest was the old type road signs (why I didn't when they were everywhere has been a source of regret I can never undo) and when that almost used up the site where each photo you take goes on a map of the country and turns each place red then I have yet another little addiction.

I don't think you've got that many trains compared to most places!
