As this is a chain game it goes in here. Inspired by the 'Ask me' thread I thought of a true free association thread, where you simply write what you thought of after reading the last entry. No theme whatsoever of course, as it's basically what comes into your head first automatically. I'll start it off.

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Man is an obstacle, sad as the clown,
So hold on to nothing, and he won’t let you down

H.G. Wells

lesley153 H G Wells was an apprentice in a draper's shop for two years, so "Kipps" (Half a Sixpence) must have been autobiographical. How exciting is that?

And the title character from Wells's 'History of Mister Polly' worked in much the same field from memory.

lesley153 Poor man - must have been rough to have inspired two books. Shame it's too late for him to vent in the "worst job" thread. (But he wouldn't get rich and famous doing that, so I guess it's not really a shame at all.)
