Mom always says "I'd have rather been born rich instead of so cute.".

It is said that it is, "better to be born lucky, than rich".
I personally would consider it lucky had I been born rich......for, whilst money does not buy happiness, it sure makes unhappiness a lot more comfortable!
Another thought, have you noticed that most of the people who trot out the words, "Money isn't everything you know" are those with no great shortage of the stuff!

I'm going to steal that saying from your mum, Rayven, if that's ok! A good reply to my son whenever he's angling for money!

Why is it that those with money often look down on those who haven't?

My great-aunt didn't come from money, but now that she's got it she's stingy and acts like a spoiled, rich brat (she's in her mid-70's, by the way)

My grandmother had to scrimp and work hard all of her life, but in her later years when she was a bit more financially comfortable, she gave away most of what she had to grandchildren and her siblings.

That's how it should be done.
Janice and Bill are unwilling to part with a single cent.
And, although she has a cell phone, she never has it on unless she intends to use it that seccond; and she never lets him take it with him when he goes to his annual picnic (Janice spends the day with my Grandmother [she calls their time together "Sister's Day," and as Grandma has a phone it would make sense for Janice to let Bill have hers... but she won't let him touch it])

Well, since I actually try to avoid drama, on and off the internet, I guess I was the last to know Loch was gone. And I have no idea why or where she went, so I guess the joke's on me. I liked Loch, and I was sorry to see she was no longer here. I don't need to know why, though, I really don't, so please spare me, I am sort of begging you. It's a nontopic, unless she wants to show up somewhere and tell me herself. I prefer to keep that "fun" in Fun Trivia.
I also agree that humor doesn't always translate, and it's even harder in here, where inflection and/or tone has to be added intentionally, and there is so much that is misinterpreted.
I didn't interpret what you said in the same way Saints did; hence that fine, fine line. But I do stand by my quote, and since it's mine, I adjust the percentages accordingly.
So no hard feelings, I hope, because that was certainly not my intention.
And, I hope Saints comes back, too. Because hope springs eternal, and Saints is fun.
