When you post on the boards and copy and paste from a website please add where you copied it from. This is to prevent any possible copyright infringements and to stop any claims of plagiarism. If you copy and paste a link it should be obvious where it came from, but things such as quotes MUST be followed or preceded by 'copied from...'
Any quotes posted that do not follow the above will be deleted.



Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

If an item is copied and pasted from another site, and the poster correctly attributes this to the site where it was found, but it is later found that the site used copied it from another site, is copyright infringement an issue?

Does this also apply to posts made on Team Boards and if there is a copyright infringement, who gets slapped paws, the poster or Terry?

If you attribute your quote to the site you copied it from I can't see any problem if that site has plagiarised it from somewhere else. You would have acted in good faith.
Gilli, it would be FT that would be in trouble and, yes, it applies across the whole site.

Thanks for the heads up - maybe there could be a message sent out to all team leaders, asking them to make it a 'sticky post' on their Team Board?

I'm guessing quite a few! I just assumed there would be some kind of clever computery-type thingyo that could automatically post itself on all Team Boards...or something!

As there seems to be copy and paste going on from www.oldnewspapersonline.com on certain threads.

Can you point me to the threads concerned? The link you provided is to a commercial site which we do not allow. If anyone is linking to that site, or any other which offers things for payment, they need to be deleted.
